preacher, you say pride,I say a sense of self seperate from GOD,are we saying the same thing? On one level it appears desire seperates us from GOD,the root of desire is "sin, the root of "sin" is Guilt, the root of guilt is the absense of GOD.

My spiritual growth is more along the lines of the Zen ox. I've only made it to 3.
What keeps me from it is laziness.
1: The Self is faintly intuited, like sensing the presence of the Ox, and the journey begins.
2: Like finding a few hoof marks of the Ox, traces of the teachings of the path are found.
3: The Ox is glimpsed, as one comes to see that the Self is beyond the personality self.
4: The Ox has been caught hold of, and the pursuit of the Self is now firmly practiced.
5: The Ox is tamed, as the mind is tamed, while staying focused on finding the Self.
6: The Ox is ridden, as the mind is mastered, becoming a friend on the inner journey to Self.
7: The Ox is left aside, as the Seeker rests in the stillness of the inner chamber.
8: Both Ox and Seeker are forgotten, allowing the individual self to rest in the True Self.
9: Ox and Seeker merge into emptiness, wholeness, beingness; the absolute Truth.
10: The Realized returns to the marketplace of life, living in the world, yet in the Self.

#1 is almost always ego. Followed by allowing the influence of evil to sway decisions on how to proceed in life. Keeping one from attending to the spiritual as should #1

So, stepping into touch with your inner new child is rather a regression? i think of I agree in princple. yet what do you enable go of and what do you hold? To enable go fullyyt is to have not have been given any non secular underpinnings or ethical framework in any respect. looks to me that letting go is a controversy of having mature priorities and heavily theory-out values somewhat than an ecclectic, relativist, something is going physique of ideas. in case you comprehend what's genuine and rather significant, each and every thing else merely of course falls far off from inattention.

The only things that can prevent spiritual growth are ignorance and sin.
And you're wrong to divide it into levels like that. There's no biblical basis for that kind of scale, and it opens up a forum for people to start comparing themselves to others. Jesus is our yardstick of spiritual maturity. His life is our goal.

Nothing prevents my spiritual growth. I try my best daily to maintain a close relationship with God. I pray constantly for myself and others (never material things), in hopes that we can all join hands someday and stop being so judgemental towards one another.
