any nice way to hint it? what is the worse you have ever smelled?

my wife tells me every day how badly i stink and it seems that no matter how much soap i use i still stink!! people look at me out in public like in walmart and i can tell they can smell me!! it's horrible!!

If this person smells really bad, and they are not homeless, maybe they have the inherited disease called Trimethylaminuria (TMAU for short). This disease causes bad body odor. (The disease has no other symptoms.) You can find plenty of information about this disease on the Internet. A sufferer's odor may resemble that of rotting fish, feces, urine, or garbage; or the sufferer may have a musty-like smell. The odor of the sufferer is variable and may sometimes be hard to detect, while other times it's extremely pungent and may be smelled across the room. Many websites falsely state that the odor of TMAU sufferers only resembles rotting fish; this is false. TMAU can cause variable odors, as I described above. A TMAU sufferer will often have terrible body odor no matter his or her hygiene practices.
There is currently no cure for TMAU. Many sufferers feel socially isolated and unhappy. I would be sensitive towards this person who smells and realize that maybe he or she has this genetic condition that he or she cannot help.

Don't tell them.
Take them to a store that sells perfume/cologne or a department store that has a perfume/cologne department and go around smelling scents and tell that person that a particular scent smells really good on them.

Take them on the side don't say it in front of anyone. Say "I don't want you to embarrass yourself so i need to tell you..you have a bit of body odor tell them its OK but to try to fix it" it should work

If you can smell it so can they. They already know they stink and dont care to do anything about it. What's the point in telling them ?

Is it someone you are with? Ask them to take a shower with you...anytime my fiance is stinky, I offer to shower with him, and he usually gets the hint ;)
or buy them some body spray/cologne or a stick of deodorant. Hopefully they will get the hint!
