Who is to say being homosexual is a bigger sin than Murder or Stealing (all three are listed in the Bible as sins among other things). IF you believe in Jesus, isn't your sin your own and Your cross to bear with Him (no pun intended) on Judgement Day??

Homosexual behavior evokes a more passionate response than other sins because it is of a sexual nature. Many people respond with fear and loathing - because it is a sin they cannot possibly fathom the motivation of.

Lying, murder, theft - most people understand these, because they feel the same motivations. Everyone gets angry, wants to avoid the truth, envies something another person has.

Homosexual behavior, however, goes to something they don't understand. They can't believe that someone would be so "fallen" as to "want" to be involved in something so "unnatural." And being unable to understand the motivation of this behavior, they fear it.

And yes, learning to not take "responsibility" for other's sins is a journey. God knows I've got enough trouble dealing with my own natural lusts - I don't have the energy to worry about how other people deal with theirs!

I agree with you to a certain extent, a sin is a sin. I think where many people get judgmental is in the fact that when someone commits murder it may be on a spur of the moment thing, when someone stills it can be a one time thing or an ongoing thing.

Homosexuality on the other hand is a choice to live in continual sin, a sin which the Bible says is an abomination to God. It is not a bigger sin or a worse sin, but it kind of seems to be like thumbing your nose at God not caring what he says.

If you believe they are born that way, I would assume you think pedophiles are also born that way, but wait evolution will kill off the homosexuals anyway (they don't reproduce)so does it really matter?

You love the sinner, but hate the sin. Just like God does. There is a different between judging a person as a whole and judging whether or not an action or behavior is wrong. We all sin, that doesn't make us bad people. There is such a thing as righteous judgement
1 Thessalonians 5:
21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.

Homosexuality is evil in God's eyes - see Romans 1. I don't look down on the person, just the sin they are commiting

Because SOME Christians forget that God is God and they are not!
Romans 8:1 says There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, but it doesn't say There is no condemnation FROM Christians! LOL!!!
I am a Christian and I do not judge others because the bible says that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Sin is sin- it doesn't matter what it is, because it separates us from God.
The good news is that Jesus came to the earth and died on the cross so that we can live. He became sin so that we can be forgiven for our sin- whatever it may be- and live freely!

I think the reason why Christians are so judgemental (keep in mind I am a Christian myself) is because homosexuality is such an "out-in-the-open"-type sinful lifestyle, where-as lying, or glutony, or lust can be hidden. Its easy to point fingers at the homosexuals when it's obvious they're in a homosexual lifestyle. Of course we all have our own sins to bear, and there are some Christians who take things overboard, but there are also those of us, like me, who are trying to better ourselves, and others. And if I were to see a brother or sister engaging in ANY sin, it's my duty to warn them away from it.

I am Christian, and I personally do not care if people are gay or lesbian.
Its funny, when I was in highschool, I got into it with the school ho. And she was going on about how homosexuality is a sin and yadda yadda yadda. She kept saying "The Bible says its wrong, its a sin..." so I told her "Well you know what? Pre-marital sex is also considered a sin, and you're the worlds biggest ho, so I guess you'll be going to hell too..." she shut right up..
Isnt it funny how people can see the faults of others and not themselves?

Only nutcases would believe homo acts are worse than murder, these are the same people that are against using a dead fetus for stem cell research, they would rather throw it in the garbage and call it "Gods Will". How long with these weak minds have control of this country and slow the cure for cancers and other science research? Lies and fairytales is all you will hear from the right.

Because homophobes need to seize any excuse to validate their fears. I'll not that the words about homosexuality being an abomination also comes with instructions to kill children if they disrespect their fathers and to kill women who dare to wear clothing made from two different types of cloth. Supposedly Jesus repealed tehese laws, so why not the one about homosexuality as well.

If you think that homosexuality is an "abomination", then you should never eat any shrimp either.

Homosexuality is no worse of a sin than murder or stealing, but it is no less either. All sin is offensive to a holy God. If one receives Christ, their sins are forgiven, but we are called to repent, to turn around and away from our sinful lifestyles. If one continues in a sinful lifestyle after receiving Christ, one questions whether that profession of faith was genuine.

The funny thing is, remarriage after divorce is 'living in adultery' from a Biblical perpsective. Yet a good portion of those condemning homosexuals for 'living in sodomy' are themselves remarried!

Something about splinters and logs in eyes comes to mind.
