So , I have 2 cats Monte & Jynx !
Monte has this Habbit of eating 1/2 a piece of food , an spitting the other 1/2 on the ground, an if me or my husban are around , he will spit it at us ...Anyone else have a cat that spits food ? .. Cause i just dont get it!! , I treat my cats Like Humans , they have a great life .. I just dont understand why he spits his food ..

To answer .. there is nothing wrong with his mouth or teeth ! , They just had there check up 2 weeks ago. He's been doing this alamot 5 years now ...

My cat likes to eat half of her food, she doesn't spit her food out, but when she is upset she will knock her food bowl on the ground and spill whatever is left all over the place. I wouldn't worry about it, your cat just has a unique personality. If the cat is starting to cause problems with this behavior you might want to talk to your vet, but it just sounds like a strange quirk.

Wow, that is so funny, actually my cats eat like that, however they do eat the other half. Sometimes cats pick up habits like I have a cat who sits by the window and grabs the curtain with his claws and then chews it off, and he repeats that over and over, he has done that for a long time too. Maybe when your Kittie was a baby it used to eat food like that, chew half and ignore the other half and it became a habit. It is nice to have them cute stuff like that though.

I don't know but I did have a dog or cat can't remember which is was that would only eat half of it's food like that..And I found out it was cause the food had two flavors on each side of the food..So he only ate the side he liked and spit out the rest..Maybe you should try a new one flavored food..Hope this helps..Your friend....

Oh yes! All the time lol, it makes me jump up with fright and say sorry (cats name) and then I realise it is just one of the cats rubber balls that I am stepping on. It is so funny when that happens! lol

My cat pulls his food out of his bowl and spits it on the floor. It seems that he likes eating it off the floor better then out of his dish.. try feeding him on a flat surface, like a table mat

I have not heard of that. Are you sure his mouth is okay. Any sores or a toothache.
