No it's patriotic one.
Vande Mataram means Saluting to our mother nation and i don't see anything religious into this. Only resemblance is the language.. i.e, sanskrit.

No. Certainly it is not a religious song. It is a song of salutation to Mother India. We regard the country, the earth as Mother. Vande Matharam means 'we salute thee, Mother'. The song is written in Sanskrit language which is learnt by only a few and discarded by many. Some disregard it as a dead language because it is out of reach for a common man. Just to appease the common man, politicians and other fundamentalists label it as a religious song. Nowhere in the song, we find the name of any religion. In the name of social upliftment, some leaders go on shouting that it is a religions song. They have made it an issue and are trying to disrupt the peace in the society. We, the people of India except a few, should think sensibly and see that the song is sung with true patriotic spirit. The song that had given us a clarion call to fight for the freedom of our country should be sung and safeguarded in the interest of the coming generations.

Simply because you love your Mother,
it doesn't mean you don't love your Father.
When some of your elements are from the Earth,
the rest are from the Heaven. Let us distinguish
between the Earth and the Heaven as between
Father and Mother.

If there is no Mother Land, which country will
afford you? Let us appreciate the salt we eat.
We are the salt of this Mother Land in physical form,
every particle I say, flesh, blood, everything. We are
not hundred per cent from the Heaven. Both this
Mother Land and the Father in the Heaven are
equally dear to us. One doesn't ecclipse the other.
All is but a combination. Let's us be grateful and
salute the Mother Land and salute the Heavenly Father.

No,this is a patriotic song. Bankim Chandra wrote this song in his novel Ananda Math. This song was first considered as the National anthem in India. Since last more than fifteen years Rabindra NathTagore's song" jana gana mana adhinayaka jayahe bharata bhagya bidhata" is sung as the national anthem. The main objective
is that this song covers almost all the regions of India such as "Dravira utkala banga....." etc.
