I am the same way. What happens is nitrogen buids up in your joint spaces. By cracking your bones, the release of this gas helps to get rid of the pressure. Try a supplement like glucosamine to help you. Be careful of interactions with other medications and well as be prepared for side effects of the supplement.

That is an old wives tale about your knuckles getting bigger. That shouldn't be a problem for you to worry about. It is a bad habit though, and when your body is craving it it must be bad. It is one of those that you will more than likely grow out of, but to stop is to retrain yourself. While you are having trouble with that, the best way I do know of is to be busy. That's hands busy and mind busy at the same time. Then come home exhausted so that you don't think about it because you are just too tired to.

Try your hardest to stop or not do it as often as it will actually in the long run make it more painful. I have been crackin my knuckles since i was a preteen and now am only 26 and they hurt all the time. I know sometimes cracking can help maybe go to a chiropractor and see what they say.

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. get glucosamine at walmart or pharmacy.i get it at dollar tree
-it will stop the joint popping-no joke. it may seem weird not popping after that, but it works. don't take more than the
recommended dose, and not for more than 4-6 weeks. then take
it lightly after that.
