I met someone, recently, who looks like a guy a dated in high school. I've been on a couple of dates with him, and it looks like it might actually be going somewhere, but everytime I look at him it's like I'm seeing my old boyfriend. And the worst part is they even have the same first names. (I always thought that only happened in cheap movies and really corny books)
Should I continue to date him and hope that I get over my little hang up, or simply tell him that it'll never work cos of such superficial rubbish? HELP!!!

I have serious issues with anyone who believes that a person is simply their skin tone, so anyone who likes to pass disparaging comments should just move on. (This is aimed at the narrow minded fool who refers to himself as "Not me".)

Have you told him about this? I would. Then he can help you laugh it off. At least he knows he is your type and doesn't have to worry about you calling out the wrong name in bed!

I have some questions for you:
Do you go out with the guy because he looks like your ex?
Do you want him to behave and be like your ex?
When you are kissing him, do you want him to be your ex?
if your answer is no read the 1st. Opinion, if answered yes to all go to the 2nd. Opinion:
1) Opinion: Everyone has a Stereotype of person they want to be with, the reason you are attracted to him is not because he looks like your boyfriend but because you are attracted of his body and face features.
2)Opinion: Girl, you are still crazy in love with your ex, did you have a "Closure"? if not, do it...you need to get over him.

People favor and have the same first names, you need to separate the feelings you had about the old one and find great things about the new to ever make this work.

Look at it this way; should you ever slip up and call your first bf name in your sleep, or when making love, he won't know any different, will he?

it's very rational and impulsive to think so girl. but also it's very hard to control ur heart! psychotic u can say cos ur seeing ur old boyfriend! u shud take him for who he is, not for who he looks like!!! if so then u better get over with this infatuation or fling. if u don't work out ur feelings for him or can't then there's no point for putting urself in trouble and him also. u don't want to hurt him for ur superficial rubbish ... not fair on him and on u too ... get to know him for himself and know urself too.
