Hell yeah I believe that it is a man made virus….NOTE: for those that don’t believe that it is because animals have it, have you ever thought that it was tested on animals first??? DUH! And for those that feel that it’s costing us a fortune, HELLO do your research! The pharmaceutical industry is the richest industry in the US, so the more sick people we have, the more money they get, get it?! Also, the people that donate tons of money to these organizations not only do it because they’re rich and they want to, BUT it’s a TAX WRITE OFF!!! These people aren’t giving money away free and getting nothing in return. Donating to any charity or cause is a tax write off so no we are not spending tons of money to find a cure, we’re making tons of money to find one…..
AIDS, in my opinion, was created for 3 reasons, Money, More Money, and to exterminate different populations of people……haven’t you noticed that AIDS is one disease that cannot be traced back in our history??? Chicken pox, small pox, cold, flu, syphilis, etc can be traced back to when Columbus sorry *ss so called discovered America! Plus when did we all notice that AIDS was a major epidemic??? Not until the 80’s and 90’s, and who were blamed for AIDS????? Gays and the Africans in Africa……hmmmmmm, Gays were not acceptable then and the Africans in Africa were always being experimented on, i.e. when White Americans around the 70’s (if I’m not mistaken) took baby formula to Africa because they felt that breast feeding was bad and a thing in the past….well due to short supply of water and polluted water the babies suffered from malnutrition and some even died because they could not have the proper amount of formula or breast milk since the moms milk dried up…..Yeah isn’t America PHUCKIN GREAT!

Why just AIDS? Why not SARS and the Bird Flu (as some people have suggested).
Sounds like you've been spending too much time reading conspiracy theory blogs on the Internet. If you keep doing that, you will become paranoid and weird, and the neighbors will sic the police on you when you start building a bunker in your backyard (to hoard weapons).

carbonbiased: You are wrong. 75% of AIDS death is not from gay population. A lot of AIDS deaths are on drug injecting users, commercial sex workers, mother to child transmission, etc. Gay population at most contributes 5%. Here's some info for you, do you think these children were gay: the AIDS epidemic claimed an estimated 2.8 million (between 2.4 and 3.3 million) lives in 2005 of which more than half a million (570,000) were children (UNAIDS facts).
Ok, as a health economist, I'll say no to this conspiracy theory. First of all, AIDS is the name of the syndrome, and the virus causing it is HIV. HIV was here long before us, average "Joes" even heard of AIDS in the 80s, so here's some information:
Two species of HIV infect humans: HIV-1 and HIV-2. HIV-1 is hypothesized to have originated in southern Cameroon after jumping from wild chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes troglodytes) to humans during the twentieth century. HIV-2 is hypothesized to have originated from the Sooty Mangabey (Cercocebus atys), an Old World monkey of Guinea-Bissau, Gabon, and Cameroon. HIV-1 is more virulent, more easily transmitted and is the cause of the majority of HIV infections globally, while HIV-2 is less easily transmitted and is largely confined to West Africa. HIV-1 is the virus that was initially discovered and termed LAV.
Three of the earliest known instances of HIV-1 infection are as follows:
* A plasma sample taken in 1959 from an adult male living in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
* HIV found in tissue samples from a 15 year old African-American teenager who died in St. Louis in 1969.
* HIV found in tissue samples from a Norwegian sailor who died around 1976.
Although a variety of theories exist explaining the transfer of HIV to humans, there is no widely accepted scientific consensus of any single hypothesis and the topic remains controversial. Freelance journalist Tom Curtis discussed one currently controversial possibility for the origin of HIV/AIDS in a 1992 Rolling Stone magazine article. He put forward what is now known as the OPV AIDS hypothesis, which suggests that AIDS was inadvertently caused in the late 1950s in the Belgian Congo by Hilary Koprowski's research into a polio vaccine. Although subsequently retracted due to libel issues surrounding its claims, the Rolling Stone article motivated another freelance journalist, Edward Hooper, to probe more deeply into this subject. Hooper's research resulted in his publishing a 1999 book, The River, in which he alleged that an experimental oral polio vaccine prepared using chimpanzee kidney tissue was the route through which simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) crossed into humans to become HIV, thus starting the human AIDS pandemic.

it was created to get rid of people with the most wicked of methods!! MAKING LOVE!! is something that everyone enjoy and it's impossible to stop people making love. why is it diffused i all poorest countries? because they don't want those countries to develop properly, because if they do the countries (colonialists) in control of them will lose a lot of money... you know what i mean!! I ALSO AGREE WITH CriKALy ABOVE, don't let the media *uck up your brain and don't be so small minded to say is to punish gay, it could happen to anybody, nor that i wish for it to happen to anyone but it's true... THINK!! OPEN YOUR EYES FOR GOD'S SAKE!!

I believe it was man made. I can't prove it, so this is just my opinion. You can read all the stuff about how straight people get aids, yada yada yada, but the bottom line (and you can check the stats for yourself) is that 75% + of the deaths attributed to aids are linked to the gay population.
This info was from Time Magazine a ways back btw.
