It is very poor grammar for 'very large'

The correct way to say it is muy grande.
mucho means 'much'

no. It´s muchísimo. first of all, it is muchas gracias, no longer gracias muchas. and extra is muchísimas gracias, or, for the superlative, miles (de) gracias. nope. no longer muy mucho.
