First, part of your problem is that you don;t eat enough during the day. You should change your diet so that you increase your meals each day. Eating every 2-4 hours will boost your metabolism, and also, eating in the morning is very important...within the first hour of awakening.
As for the sweets prob, just replace empty sugars for healthy ones. Honey Nut Cheerios (dry) are sweet and healthy, All fruits with a little powdered sugar is a great alternative to candies and cakes.
Drink about 1 8oz glass of water before and after each meal to help digest your food.
Try this and have fun, don;t worry so much about it and it will be an easy change, Good Luck!

I have also heard that NOT eating regularly shuts down the metabolism. I am 5"1" and weigh 150 lbs I have 4 children and I never get on a diet. I still have a way to go to reach my preferred weight but I ll be the first to tell you that starving yourself is not going to take off the weight nor will eating sweets help. I cut back on the sweets, drink plenty of water, and eat 3 healthy small portioned meals a day. If you don't have time make time, you are important too damn it. Instead of a sweet grab water it makes you feel great and full of energy try it.

Eating every 2 -3 hours will keep your blood sugar level and your metabolism up. When you eat very little, your body thinks it is starving and will hold on to everything you take in. Eat like a queen in the morning and a poor person in the evening. Mornings are a great time for healthy carbs, as you need the energy to make it through the day. Dinner is a great time for proteins, as they help repair all the wear and tear we do to our bodies. Make a small ( 1 week) commitment to eat this way, at the end of the week, you'll feel so much better it will be easy to stick to. Exercise in any way, and drink LOTS of water. Small steps, big results.

try HOODIA. It is NOT a stimulant so it does not speed up heart rate. What it does is it effects the brain it blocks your hunger receptors in the brain so you get full faster. but you DO need to eat regular meals. Breakfast lunch and dinner. If you starv yourself or only eat once and then eat tons of candy your body holds on to all the fat you eat because it doesnt know when its next REAL meal will be. So start by eating MEALS 3 a day still snack if you would like and go to buy1get1.org and order the hoodia and take one before lunch and one before dinner an hour before and see how it works. a 37 year old lady took it for 7 and a half months and lost 150 pounds!!! it really works but make sure it says its from SOUTH AFRICA and 100% HOODIA 800 mg should work just great for you. GOOD LUCK. if you need anything else contact me

When the human body is not fed regularly it goes into starvation mode. It stores every possible calorie for the time when you won't be eating at all.
If you care to check, the reverse effect can be seen when concentration camp survivors were "fattened up" after WW II. It is a strange thing but it is the absolute truth. The sweets aren't helping of course and the additional weight is a risk factor for diabetes, heart trouble and other problems.
If you treat yourself like a diabetic, several tiny meals with limited carbohydrate intake and get some aerobic exercise the pounds will fall off and your husband will be chasing you around the house.
Good luck.

the only real way to lose weight is through diet and exercise. even if you dont eat much, your body uses what you put in it. instead of candy, try nuts or popcorn(nuts are full of protien and iron) theyre great for munching. your best bet would be to see your doctor for a diet plan, and get your thyroid checked, there are perscriptions available too for weight loss. but nothing will work unless you stick to it. if you change your eatin habits for a year, start exercising, and lose 50lbs, chances are huge youd gain it all back if you stoped.

It's not good to not eat. it puts your body into thinking it is starving and it slows down and won't lose. Talk to your Dr about Adapex. It is a miracle. It's no too expensive either. One little pill a day and the fat just melts away. You will feel tons better when you lose the weight too. Good luck, and I have faith in you. You can do this.

You need to eat..... it is true that if you skip meals your body will compensate and hold on to the weight for fear of starving, the sweets give you the energy boost and it burns it now, drink lots of water, and pack a healthy snack when you pack hubbies lunch. try to get rid of the sweets and replace with fruit or veggies. good luck.

you need to eat more often and eat healthy. i used to eat only once a day and feel weak unless i had sugar in my body. i now have low blood sugar levels and have to be careful what i eat. so if you feel you have to snack, then snack on carrots or something healthy
