A speedy Google search will have to had been ready to reply this question. No, whether or not you have smoked or now not is not going to impact or exhibit up on a blood panel. A blood test directed at looking for nicotine within the blood may also be carried out, sure. However in a normal blood panel that appears for ailment or other matters, nicotine won't show up.

Unless your doctor specifically asks that the blood test include a check for nicotine levels, it won't detect whether you smoke.
It's more likely that your doctor will notice the smell of cigarette smoke on your breath or on your clothes.
However, even if he does, professional ethics should prevent him from discussing it with your father.
Now, about smoking...
If you don't want your doctor or your father to find out about it, you're smart enough to know that smoking isn't a good thing to do.
Take 5 minutes to check out the following link. Even if you don't read the whole article, scroll down to the pictures that compare the lungs of a non-smoker to those of a smoker. Then scroll down a little more to the picture of a lung with emphysema.
You may wish to reconsider your choice about tobacco.

Yeah, there are ways to tell. My doctor and I had never discussed if I smoked, but 2 yrs ago after doing my yearly bloodwork she was going over the results with me, and asked if I smoked. I told her that I did (socially) and she said my blood was thick (one of the tests revealed that) and smoking can cause that thickening...
I immediately put myself on a low dose aspirin a day to help thin my blood.

No they are NOT going to be able to tell you smoke from a blood test. Nor can they tell your father. Second you should tell your doctor cause they need to know that kinda thing but they cant tell your parents about it.

Yes.
Anyway, most smokers don't have any clue how bad they reek, which will surely give you away. Unless you launder all your clothes & abstain from having a smoke before you go in, he's sure to know the minute you walk in the door.

It doesn't take a blood test. Simple observation will probably show him and your father that you smoke. Quit now whil eyou still can.

Of course. A blood test will reveal nicotine levels in your blood.

I'm sure they'll smell the smoke on you, but too... he should keep your visit confidential, you are going to him as your doctor. You will be asked that question on the form you fill out... are you planning on lying about it???

Sorry to break it to ya, but your doctor probably already knows. And your dad too. How do you explain coming in smelling like cigarettes?
