I am a christian, but i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I have know way of knowing exactly what God will look like. I know we were made in his image.
i have a question for you because you are an atheist... Do you believe that this life is it, if you died tomorrow it would over?
My concern is this, I do not have the greatest life, i am not rich or famous, or without problems, i am not the prettiest girl in the world or anything like that. Can you tell me what is the point of living when you are an atheist, to me if I did not know that I would go to heaven I do not think that I would put up with life or respect boundaries or rules if I ultimately did not believe that there would be no consequences if I could plead out of things or lie to not get into trouble.

I suspect the traits come from the scriptures mentioning several emotional traits of God; besides, if we are created in his image; and we have those characteristics,it is not hard to gather he has them too. One does have to limit that logic though, as God is spirit, not flesh.
As for; 'Look, kids, this wasn't an open invitation to convert me. I just think it's incredibly arrogant for those who do believe in god to run around attributing human characteristics to a supposedly supreme being....'. Be careful ma'am. I am on disability but am 48 years old. Am I a kid?

Zeus = Noah. Who is God? Get your KJV and read this; 1 Cor 8:6; John 17:3; Rev 21:22; 1 Cor 11:3; Eph 4:6; 1 Tim 2:5; 2 Cor 1:3; 1 Cor 15:24-28; 2 Thes 2:16. And your next question should be; Did Jesus have a God? Eph 1:7; John 20:17; 1 Pet 1:3; Eph 1:3; 2 Cor 11:31; Rom 15:6; Heb 1:9. Need any more help, please don't hesitate to em me.

God is Spirit. He has no permanent physical manifestation within the Universe (Omniverse, Creation, whatever).
God is Absolute Power (also known as Omnipotent).
God is Love (the way water is wet).
God is Omniscient.
God is Eternal (not constrained by Time, a function of the Universe He created).
God is totally and completely independant of any other created aspect of time-space.

I believe in a G-d because of the experiences I have had in my life that no one can explain, and the only logical conclusion I can come to is that it was G-d or one of his angels.
I do not believe G-d is "old bearded man", I probably did when I was a kid, but as I've grown so have my ideas of what G-d is. I do not believe that in our finite minds that we can ever truly know what G-d is, looks like, etc. However, I do believe you can have a "relationship" with Him/Her/It and that it is beneficial.

Catholics, Episcopalians and Protestants (alongside with Baptists, Pentecostals, Methodists, Lutheran, etc.) Mormons and JW's do no longer, meaning they are no longer Christians. The Christian faith's maximum hassle-free guideline is the theory that Jesus is the Messiah, Son of God and is God in the flesh.

Coming to terms with the notion is a matter of faith. There are gaps in beliefs of those who believe in a higher power (Jesus Christ-God in the flesh) and those gaps are filled with faith.
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it give us assurance about things we cannot see.
Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 1
God bless you :)

One of the most difficult things about discussing God with others is trying to get past notions of what they think God is, what he looks like, or what they think YOU think God looks like.
God Himself said not to try and figure him out "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways". In fact, only a couple of people in the Bible have ever even SEEN Him. So don't worry about what he looks like. I kind of like your concept of an "elemental force", but don't discount His being a person, as there is lots and lots of anecdotal evidence in the Bible as to his personality, and his personal interest in us.
And He DOES love you. So, don't write Him off easily. ;) He believes in you, even if you don't believe in Him right now. He WANTS us to be critical and ask questions.
Is He keeping an infinite list of rights and wrongs? It would seem kind of cheap if he were. Most of what I've learned is that He knows us, each of us, intimately; inside and out. He knows what our potential is, and He wants us to be less like animals, and more like Him. Since we all know the difference between good and evil, He wants us to turn away from evil and deny our baser natures. Knowing God and having Him in your life is a relationship.
Check out "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. It's a good, accessible read for people who have lots of critical questions.

ROMANS 1:20-22
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
