Its packed with anything and everything you could need or think about. The biggest advise - to plan in advance. Also congrats if you are getting married!

Hugs from a Loving Mom to a Brilliant, as well as beautiful 8 year old Jared and Our Angel, Zachary (taken to soon but who will always remain in our heart) ~ Mel

You know, this may seem odd, but I sure didn't think about it until that day! Obviously, at some time at the reception I had to go to the bathroom (I didn't have booze), and I had an extremely big dress, even though the train was hooked up to my waist - I'm a big woman, so there was a lot of skirt. I realized there was no way I could go by myself! Very luckily, my maid of honour didn't mind my lack of shame, and held my dress way out in front of me - with the door open and keeping other people out, while I peed. (I also had three sisters who probably wouldn't have minded either, considering the circumstances.). So, that's something that I hope doesn't seem crude, but those stalls are so small! Uh, you really don't foresee something like that!

I have not yet gotten married. It will take place in a month, but I wish that I had more help in the planning area. I've not been to that many weddings, and never had to help with one. I am clueless as far as the traditions and the dos and don'ts. We are trying to be as original as possible and it is hard. Especially on a budget. I guess I could also wish that I had help finding a money tree.

In hindsight, I wish I had a bouncer at the reception. :-)
Several people were drunk, and a couple were out of control. My husband and I didn't have attendants so there was no best man to take care of the people. If I could go back and do it over, there would be at least one man in advance who would deal with out of control guests so hubby and I didn't have to.

Other than that, it's just nice to have a second opinion. Sometimes you need to know that your decisions are good ones form someone more impartial than a fiance, especially since most men just go with whatever their women like.

The thing I needed the most help with for the wedding day was remembering stuff- I should have pulled things out during the week prior and made a box or suitcase of things like the CD for the first dance song (we forgot it, the live trio improvised, it was fine), the travel steamer, extra hose, shoes, makeup remover, sunscreen, camera, etc.

Once I was onsite, the hardest part was getting in and out of the carriage...

I was my own coordinator, and this was my mantra: Choose the best person I can afford for the job, tell them exactly what I want, then let it go. As for the big day, I had minute details planned out as certain songs were played. I had no "point and snap lady," but after a few practices the night before at rehersal, everyone knew their cue. So, 1.) Pick the best you can afford, and 2.) Plan as much as you can. THEN, 3.) sit back and enjoy it, you'll be just as married at the end of it, and that's what matters. :) We had a mishap or two, but it was FUNNY and very memorable.

my maid of honour was the most useless person in the wedding party. She had no idea of what her role was (even though I emailed her an article of what is required by the maid of honour). She planned my bachelorette party the night before (my second brides maid had to tell her) and she called me about 2 hours before the party. When my husband asked her what her responsibilities were she said "too look good at the wedding." FYI, I paid for the bridesmaids dresses, hair and make up.

I'm getting married in November and to be honest with you...I've had no problems ...my fiance' is great with handling all the financial deals. We're paying for the wedding ourselves. It's still going to be a nice sized wedding. But we knew exactly what we wanted from the beginning, so we just made phone calls and booked who needed to be booked, made payments, asked our attendants to be a part of it...and now it's just waiting for the day to come...it goes by quick...so before I know it, it'll be here...

We had our reception at our local church. My mom had help from all her friends who made sure the food was brought out and there was enough of it. Replenishing the food trays, fruit salad, etc.... Also, my mom just got remarried and she put disposal cameras on all the tables so everyone could take pictures of everyone else. She got a lot of special pictures that way. She had a professional for the good stuff but you never have enough photos of the special day. Congratulations!!!
