"Of the 100's of reasons I have to believe," I like to post some here and there...if you want to say nasty things..you have my permission!
The human brain..simultaneously processes an amazing amount of information, your brain takes in all the color and objects around you, the temperature, the pressure of your feet against the floor, the sounds around you, the dryness of your mouth even the texture of objects at the same time register emotional responses, thought and memories, and keeps track of on going functions of your body such as breaking, eyelid movement and hunger and movement of you hands all at once. The mind can process more than 10 million messages per second. This amazing machine only weighs 8-10 pounds.
My conclusion is: An intelligent and knowledeable being created it.
I know this just like a see Mt. Rushmore..I know it just didn't happen...I see the design and the work that went into it.
another one of my reasons..
Many ask why...Just Chat'n!

Duck Duhp: You may want to notice that I said 1 of 100's of my reasons. No where did I say this is the" reason. It
is of of the many (100's) of building blocks of my reason to believe in God.

I'll agree with you that the human brain is a wonderful processor, and perfectly suited to controlling the greatest machine ever conceived, the human body. However, I don't agree that the complexity and efficiency of the brain necessitates an intelligent designer.
The single celled amoeba is an unbelievably efficient machine also, yet it has no mind, and is infinitely less complex than humans. It is easy to imagine a simple creature such as the amoeba being formed from protein molecules floating in the sea. From this "jumping off" point, over a period of millions of years, evolved all life on earth.
Some people look negatively at the theory of evolution, attaching an emotional connotation to the idea of having an ape as a distant ancestor. I like to think of it in a positive light. According to the theory of evolution, the creature that is best suited to live and reproduce will dominate those that are less fit. Humanity dominates the entire planet. Therefore, we must be the fittest life-form that has ever lived on this panet.
Instead of thinking of people as ape-descendants, think of people as the product of millions of years of stress-testing and quality assurance.

Muy interesante.
Jebus freaks can get angry at my response and give me thumbs down or whatever, but I think I can have my opinion too. I am not trying to change people's mind here, just expect others to be open-minded like I am.
I think the human brain and sensory organs have simply evolved over time to provide sensory abilities that suit our species needs.
Other animals have sensory organs as well that require extreme amounts of processing.
A chimp's brain can take in all the color and objects around them, the temperature, the pressure of their feet against the floor, the sounds around them, the dryness of their mouth, even the texture of objects and keeps track of on going functions of their body such as breaking, eyelid movement and hunger and movement of their hands all at once.
The body/brain's ability to take in so many different stimuli and interact with them is a function of the evolution of higher species.

Strange, that is the very reason why I don't believe in god. Because, it always brings me to the question: "If an intelligent being was needed to create such a complex universe, there has to be something more complex and intelligent that created the intelligent being that created the universe.
I think it is all just a dream inside a dream.
God is just the process of our combined consciousness. God (to me) is the universe and we created "God" inside our (spirit)minds.

That argument is essentially a restating of the "Watchmaker Analogy," or "argument from design," first set forth in 1802 by William Paley.
The argument fails on two levels. First, it has an implicit assumption that you can tell, simply by looking at something, whether it was purposely created or not. This is clearly not always true.
Even given that, the argument boils down to putting all complex objects into one of three categories:
1. Created by chance;
2. Created by natural forces; or
3. Created by a designer.
and therein lies the failure -- even though we can plausibly exclude the first two for an automobile, say, it's impossible to exclude them for organics.

Not a question. Youre reported.... (that would be a typical Christian response, but Im not like that....)
What you forget is that everything your brain "knows" and percieves is nothing more than a chemical reaction. Your eyes "see" nothing - they transfer incoming light into a chemical signal that your brain then retranslates into an image. Sound, touch - all works in the same fashion. Throw in some erroneous chemical signal, and you can drastically afffect everything you see, touch and beleive in.
What kind of all powerful creator would design something so easily fooled?????????

Evolution doesn't leave much room for such complexity does it? It doesn't even explain our complex eyes really. Most animals only see a few colors. Why are we alone so advanced? Are the cat people on the way up the ladder?
Great point. Thank you.

Exactly.
Thank the FSM for creating such a wonderful biologic organ.
Btw, your argument is a logical fallacy called argument from incredulity.
Herego, your conclusion is baseless and false.

Belief in god is great---it's healthy. I'm a believer. But you can't prove it--that's why it is called "faith." Where you see intelligent design, someone else will see millions of years of natural selection and evolution. But I applaud your awe at the manifestations of god.

The foolishness that serves you as a substitute for logic and reason is a logical fallacy (a flaw in thinking) known as the "Argument From Incredulity"... which is a sub-category of the "Argumentum ad Ignorantiam" (Argument From Ignorance). It goes something like this: "I can't conceive of how this might have come to be; therefore, God did it."
That does not point to a limitation of nature... rather, it exemplifies a limitation of knowledge or intellect. Also, it is intellectually dishonest, since it does not ACKNOWLEDGE the limitation of knowledge or intellect... it merely invokes the fanciful idea of a supernatural creator-entity to manifest the ILLUSION that cognitive dissonance has been resolved. It substitutes 'faith' for fact, and 'belief' for knowledge... but neither faith nor belief are sufficient to sustain reason... they are only sufficient to sustain willful ignorance.
That is the epitome of self-delusion.
"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." ~ Robert M. Pirsig

Your "intelligent and knowledeable being" had the ability to create the amazing organ which is our incredibly complex brain.
My conclusion is: an intelligent and knowledgeable being created your intelligent and knowledgeable being.
which is not what the Bible says. ergo the Bible is wrong.
