You can get a good deal at the office furniture stores. They have a larger inventory than a standard home furnishings store.

Why a Furniture store? Some of the best desks were made years ago...and were much more solid than todays makes....Try Antique stores, want ads, and especially auctions. With todays wireless networks even a computer desk does not need to be the same pressed board ones which all the Office Stores have today....Unless you intend on spending a couple of thousand at places like STICKLY, Ethan ALLEN, or Thomasville. additionally you might want to try www CRAIGSLIST.com under the nearest town to you and SALE-Furniture...!!

Only thing is that they are located in Harrisonburg, Va. South from a good what...3 hours where James Madison University is located. You may be able to find them online however.

We don't own IKEA furniture. It's for mobile homeowners. We furnished our home with Ethan Allen. You never regret buying the best.

I agree with blue 10, Walmart. I bought an oak desk there and it is very convenient, has a very good appearance, and not to mention the price was right.
