You should give her a princess theme party. She's only a little girl for a few years and when she's 14 you're going to look back and wish she was still loving princesses.

When my daughter turned 4 she wanted a princess birthday. I put my own spin on things. I made invites that were to prince and princesses. I had them all wear a costume of there liking. Made the invitations look like scrolls. And sealed them with melted wax. Then I made a cake like a castle. (everyone can come this way not just girls) I wrote a fairy tale with each child invited to the parties name in the story. I bought plain crowns and let them decorate them with gittler paint. I also got some face paints. This was much easier than it sounds. I did not do a disney priness party..it was more of just prince and princess..so we were both happy.

How about an elves and fairies theme party? It's all still very pretty and imaginary and dreamy like a princess theme. The little girls can dress up as fairies with little wings and flowers as head-dresses, etc. If there are little boys invited, then they could come dressed as little elves. Or a male version of a fairy.

I personally think that its not about what you like, its about her and if she likes princesses then thats what she should have.
Maybe you can take her to the party store and let her pick out what she wants. Thats what I did with my 5 yr old twins.

Oh, let her have it, one day soon she will be too old for princesses! Maybe you could do the Princess Bride, or Cinderella, where she is the princess but everyone else is not.
You could do a Disney theme and she could be a princess.

I know....but the party is for her and not you. We all make sacrifices for the ones we love. Let her have her princess cake and eat it too! We can roll our eyes when she isn't looking and cringe at the sight of the latest princess (whoever) doll that shows up beyond the wrapping paper, but ultimately it is all about her day and not ours.
Good Luck

Tinkerbell!! She has no credit for being a disney princess, but at least she's not belle, jasmine, cinderella or sleeping beauty! She's adorable and girls love her, plus its easy to find party supplies for her.

There's always the theme of a TV show she may like, Dora for example and since Dora is hispanic you could make it a latin theme too with Mexican (or whatever ethnicity) food like tacos and taquitos and salsa, nachos, etc. Then you could have her CD playing in the background. Maybe have marachas for the kids to shake for fun, lots of other stuff that would go along with the Dora/mexican theme.
