You meant 1880. and no it is not like that at all. Certainly ILLEGAL immigration must be stopped and those here illegally must leave. Our borders must be secured even if we have to fence the entire country.

Now for the rich thing. That is the great democrat class warfare thing meant to divide the country and in your case it appears to be working.

Why not do some homework on the subject. Are you aware that home sales in the last five years has been higher than every before in history. Now if only the rich were making the money home sales would be at the lowest it has ever been, so somebody is making some money.

The economy is stronger than it has ever been before, ever. If you want to improve your place economically the only thing holding you back is you. The opportunity is there, why do you thing everyone from other countries want to come here so bad. If you do not take advantage of these others will come and do so.

The old ways of getting a job, working for the same company for 30 years and getting a pension are way long gone. I had 12 different jobs in 36 years and the longest I worked in one place was six years and was only laid off once. In all but two of those moves my income increased. Yes I had to study hard to improve my skill set but I wanted more money, and really it was easy.

So try to assimilate into the system, learn a new skill, start your own small business, do something rather than joining the dividers of this country, become a joiner, join the growing economy.

Let's hope it's the same. The events of 1890-1910 led to the rise of the American century! Immigrants are good and so it business (which creates wealth for all).

No, because there was no welfare state then, so we weren't also PAYING for them to live once they got here.

Otherwise there are similarities to The Great Wave, yes. And you will note that it then led to our strictest ever immigration laws.
