I don't get it, I have an email thing going with an old flame with lots of innuendo. He announces he would never say no to me, but it couldn't just be a one night stand, as it wouldn't be ''right''. Do you think he wants a relationship or it it probably a long fling he's after?? I have 2 kids which he knows about, he's single, I'm seperated. I can't ask him outright, I don't have the courage.

Taking what he said at face value, I think he wants more than just a "one night stand." The kids don't bother him apparently, if he knows about them. Men don't mind kids, and in a lot of cases, are better to them than thier own Dad. Call him up and invite him over for dinner one night.....see where it goes from there. You might be VERY surprised! Go ahead....what was his number again???? Yes...ok... He's waiting! LOL, Enjoy life!!

Go out on a date with the man and see what happens. You are not obligated to have sex, so don't until you find out whether or not he's serious.

If the man doesn't want a one-night-stand, then he probably does want a real relationship, not just a fling. Date for a while and see what happens. You don't need to ask such a serious question right now.

He is right having a one night stand wouldn't be right and if he said that I would bet he wants a relationship. You said you had a relationship with him once maybe he realizes that you are what he needs. I would keep talking to him over email and see where it goes. I am separated from my husband too and getting a divorce. You need and deserve to move on. I know its hard but you deserve to be happy and if he makes you happy than go for it

I won't date a woman who's just separated. From a dating perspective, you never know if the other person is going to work things out with their spouse.

I'd suggest getting divorced first and being a little more direct.

go on a date with him and see what what's going on for real. You won't know unless you try. If you find out he only wanted a fling, then at least you'll know. You'll alwasy wonder if you don't. And hey, what's so bad about one last lay for old times sake anyway? Lifes to short. ENJOY yourself!!

It sounds like he is leading up to longer than a one night stand. Wait and listen and see where he takes your relationship.

I don't want to sound disrespectful towards your kids, but some men wont go anywhere near that type of situation. Personally it doesn't bother me, but I know of guys who wouldn't date someone with kids..

women confuse me. but in the case of men we are fairly staright forward. my guess is he wants to tap that for a while without the commitment.

Use your intuition it always helps. And answer truthfully question yourself what would you like to develop, and act accordingly.
