from what I read the disciples were not aware that Jesus was to be killed untill the time was near. so what was the gospel he told the 70 to preach? That jesus died for their sins, when he was still alive????

"to euaggelion" from Greek, literally, the good message or news. John the baptist and Jesus both taught "the good news of the kingdom of God."
Mt 4:23 Jesus went all over Galilee. There he taught in the synagogues. He preached the good news of God’s kingdom. He healed every illness and sickness the people had.
Mt 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages. He taught in their synagogues. He preached the good news of the kingdom. And he healed every illness and sickness.
Mt 24:14 This good news of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world. It will be a witness to all nations. Then the end will come.
Mk 1:14 After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee. He preached God’s good news. 15 “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Turn away from your sins and believe the good news!”
and in a verb form of the same root, "euaggelizo":
Lk 3:18 John said many other things to warn the people. He also preached the good news to them.

At Matthew 24:14 Jesus said: And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
The "good news" of God's Kingdom was the "gospel" of Christ. Its what he preached.

“Gospel” means “good news”, and is also described in the bible as “the good news of the kingdom” (Mt 4:23), “the good news of God” (Ro 15:16), “the good news about Jesus Christ” (Mr 1:1), “the good news of the undeserved kindness of God” (Ac 20:24), “the good news of peace” (Eph 6:15), and the “everlasting good news” (Re 14:6).
The good news that Jesus preached and asked his disciples to preach too was the provision of the jesus' ransom sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins and the setting up of gods kingdom which would bring an end to wickedness on earth, and bring everything back to the original condition which god purposed for the human race.

There was no written gospel. The gospel was Jesus' proclamation of the Kingdom of God.

He was referring to the gospel of the new and ever lasting convent between God and man. He was not referring to an actual script but to God's love.

It is Yiddish word that meant "to prattle on & on. to babble".
Ok i might just be guessing on that but gospel it has to be a verb somewhere.
