Now! Once they can climb out it is time for a bed!

Well when my son could climbed out of his bed he was 1 year old and I got him a bed and he has been fine. So I would go and get one. She might fall out the first night or two but it is better for her to out of a bed then a crib. She can hurt her self. If you don't want to get a bed you can get the thing that you put on top of the crib so she can't climb out.

She's ready for one now. If she can climb out of her crib a toddler bed will be safer. Either way you have to get her to stay in bed so why risk it. My son is 17 months and just recently climbed out of his crib for the first time. I took the crib down and put him in his toddler bed and we both sleep much better! Good luck!

She is ready for a toddler bed now. With my daughter I put her in a toddler bed about that age because she was climbing out of her crib also. I had an extra crib mattress that I put on the floor beside the bed just in case she rolled out of it. With my son I had to get him a twin size bed at a year old because they didn't have the toddler beds, but I started out with just the mattresses on the floor for a couple of years before i used the frame. I had to take him out of his crib that early because he broke a couple of the bars out of his crib. He would take his feet and push on them until they broke.

Get that girl a toddler bed- she's ready. Baby Proof her room- plug covers- remove mini blind cords. Nothing heavy on top of dressers, etc. Put up a baby gate at night and keep a baby monitor on- she will be fine. My oldest son did the same thing at 15 months. He was totally fine in a big boy bed. Good luck. Don't worry.

based on experience of 3 kids, I'd say you cannot change for a real bed before 2.5 years at the earliest, better 3. And if done around 2-2.5 years you want to buy one of those plastic barriers whose legs fit under the mattress, because kids that age will routinely fall out of bed!

So I'd say your daughter should stay in her crib for another 5 months at least.

Why I found when my kids went through the same phase, was that it was better to lower the barrier (we have a crib where the height of one side can be adjusted) so that the kid could easily get out of bed (and back in) when desired. And if or when the kid exaggerated (i.e. came to see us in our room at 1am) we made it immediately very clear that he was not supposed to do that, and he would pretty quickly understand.

Good luck

Mine all went to a bed as soon as they learned how to get off one with out falling 13-18 months. So I'd say now is a good time.

this is the time to make the change .....if she is able to climb out then she may end up hurting herself if she falls, its not as far to fall from a bed, may take a bit of time to get her to stay in the bed but it saves any accidents happening

ITS TIME NOW BEFORE SHE HURTS HERSELF. GET HER THE BED WITH THE SIDE RAIL. IT WILL PROTECT HER AND LAY A PILLOW ON THE FLOOR BESIDE HER BED. SHE MAY FALL OUT A FEW TIMES BUT SHE WILL NOT HAVE A LONG WAY TO FALL.
