Why do i have to believe that Jesus died for my sins in order to recieve His gift?
Let's say someone stole my wallet and instead of taking any money put $100 in it. Then they put it back into my pants without me knowing. i don't really keep track of my money so if $100 dollars turned up i would just think that i missed it before. Do i have to know who gave me the money or even that i got money from anyone in order to spend it?
so why do i have to believe that Jesus died for my sins in order to get the benefits of that?

If He didn't make that a condition (like the person in your example), I guess you wouldn't.

Faith in that for which there is no evidence is for people with weak minds. Jesus is dead. Has been for over 2000 years. You may think he died for your sins, but 1) what is sin? and 2) just because the Bible says he died for you, does that mean he really did? There is no gift, so you have nothing to worry about.

Yes, Jesus died for the whole world whether people accept that fact or not. What Adam lost, Christ [the annointed One] won back. That's Good News!
But we must receive Him as Lord.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.

Keep in mind that He had you in mind when He paid that ultimate price for you on the cross.

The wages of sin/.wrong is death. But the gift of/from God is eternal life.

The problem here, with you, may be that you find it hard to believe that someone would love you enough to pay that kind of price .... needless to say, in all truth, no humans we know would have .... that is why His gift if SO different.

If He considered it no less to do this for you and me.....then why would simply believing/trusting in that gift be so much to ask of us?

Trust Him - the benefits are out of this world!!!

You are misinterpreting the entire message of Jesus. Salvation is freely given by God, but you have to accept it. Jesus "knocks at the door."

Your wallet example is flawed in this respect. A more appropriate analogy would be "I'm walking down the street and Jesus asks for my wallet. He says he wants to put $100.00 in it, but he won't just give me the money. I have to hand over my wallet first - taking him at his word that he's not going to cut and run."

That is what Jesus does - it's not automatic. It requires that Act of Faith - handing over your wallet.

Because like it or not you will worship. If you worship the risen Savior you have to have faith.
If you worship the world it won't require any faith on your part.
You choose.
You will have to trust that Jesus is more important than your money.
That's a big leap even for many practicing Christians.

I suspect that you are already enjoying a good many gifts that Jesus has given you. Whether you choose to acknowledge Him or the gifts is up to you. Actually, believing Jesus as related to His gifts is a lot like the batteries in your IPOD. It works a whole lot better when they are there.

The bible says in Romans Paul speaking in 3rd chapter 20th verse. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The law that was given man was not designed to save him it was designed to let him know sin exists. So now that you know sin exists..what are your intentions?..let it sit in you and lie dormant? ..knowing one day you will stand before God you need to do what reconciles you to God.

Well Jesus said in John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

So you need Jesus to have access to Father. OK how do you get Jesus into your life.. BY Faith..because you can't see him and the bible says this about what faith is...Hebrews 11:1.Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now lets look at what the bible says about faith in Jesus Romans 10:8-10 vs 8.But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This is faith in action ...if you have faith you will react to it and move towards the thing you have faith in ...which in this case is Jesus...Trust him God bless

Because the Christians don't get to make any money off you if you don't buy the whole deal, and go to church as a sign of penance for your "falling short of the glory of god".
