Well, you are the parent and in the best position to know her capabilities. So, it's really your call. However, if she is able to climb out of her crib I would say that she is ready for a bed.

You might want to consider going straight to the twin size model because she will outgrow the kiddie bed in no time and there is really no reason to go to the extra expense of a transitional bed.

If you are worried about her rolling out you can get some side rails for the twin bed that are made just for that purpose.

Yes I think your daughter is old enough for a small bed, My daughter was the same age when I introduced her to one and my son was a bit older cause he was so tiny..dont do a twin yet there are wonderful youth beds on the market right now and they come with a rail so the child wont fall out and they are close enough to the ground that if they do it isnt a big fall.
Be ready to learn how to make a bed on your knees to save your back LOL..most youth beds use your crib mattress so your good to go and you can use the sheets from the crib or buy a youth set for around 45 dollars at Kmart or Walmart.
Also be ready to deal with your little darling getting out of the bed and coming to you..it will take a while but she will learn to stay in her bed. Good Luck and Congratulations on a new mile stone in your and your childs growth..

My daughter is 2 years 4 months and I just put her in a toddler bed last month. My suggestion would be this: If she is getting out of the bed every time you put her in the crib, then get her a toddler bed. However, if she only climbs out of it some of the time, put something like a stool or ottomon by her crib and show her how to climb in and out using that. Once I did that to my daughter, she stopped climbing in and out. I figured maybe she thought it was no longer a challenging for her. Anyhow, she has been in a toddler bed now for a little over a month and she is doing just great and not climbing out of the bed, or if she does, she always makes her way back to it once she's ready for bed (i close the door when it's her bed time and when I get her up in the morning she is always in her bed.)

Good luck! But most importantly, don't keep the crib if you think she is in danger of getting hurt.

If you don't feel comfortable putting her in a bed yet , try a crib tent. I have used one for both of my boys and neither one ever got out of their crib. You can look online and find one. It is a mesh tent that covers the top of the crib and is completley see through. It zips up and they can not unzip it from the inside, at least they are not suppose to be able to. I put my first boy in a toddler bed at 2/12, I know that may seem too old for some but the mattress is the same size as a crib mattress so there is not much difference.

If she knows how to climb out of the crib, then now is the perfect time. Just make sure you get one with a good rail on the side and she should do alright. Tell her how big she is and compliment her when she takes her nap for an hour or two, so when she gets in at night she knows that she needs to stay in the bed!

Your child needs a small bed now before she get hurt climbing out of her crib. Make sure that she knows that this is her new big girl bed and she is to sleep here now otherwise she will be in your bed. You sound like a great mom and I would suggest you keep on loving her enough to be concerned about what is age appropriate for her.

My daughter was outta a crib when she was 15 months. now she is going on 3. she loves her bed, Except when she's with her mom then she loves sleeping in mommys bed, lol.... What ever you decide is right for your child, Then do it..........

If she can crawls out of her crib then she is probably old enough. Some children just grow out of cribs faster than others. You might want to put up some kind of baracade so that she doesn't fall off the bed, you can buy them at Toys R Us, but it sounds like she is ready.

Yeah she is old enough better having her get out of a little bed than jumping out of a crib.

Definately sounds like she is ready. You don't want her falling out of the crib getting hurt. Get a toddler bed, have her take her daytime naps in it, she'll get used to it and then you can take the crib down.

Good luck!
