Hell is the invention of some sick, perverted minds. God never came up with that one....
The wages of sin, according to God, is death.
But the gift of God is eternal life!! God became flesh, to teach us how to live!! Halelujah!!
Knowing this is true freedom!!

Imagining there is no hell is imagining yourself in heaven.

Feeling more freedom is also imagining yourself in heaven.

Feeling less sheltered from the hands of God means I getting closer to hell.

I would feel more free to forgive and forget the bad things people do. I obey God's Law out of love, respect and a desire to be a good person.

However, since you are thinking along those lines, might I suggest a book? It's called "Waiting for the Galactic Bus" by Parke Godwin.

Freedom. John 8:32 says "... and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free". Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in a fiery hell. That being said, since we don't have to worry about going there, certainly it would be easy to reason that we have nothing to worry about but death, which everyone faces anyway. BUT, deep appreciation for God's loving kindness in allowing us to live in the first place and for providing us with knowledge of what he plans to do in the future, plus knowing that the gift is for living your life in a way that honors God and shows that you are willing to live your life in harmony with his will is EVERLASTING life and the possibility of never having to die at all, that is what helps a person (or at least me) to try to keep in line with Bible principle.

Not sure what you're asking. Less sheltered from the hands of God?

Good question...

I don't live the way I live (good or bad) in fear of hell. I live this way because of how I was raised. In general, obviously because I think this way, I don't think ppl do (or don't do) things with HELL on their minds. It may come after, but not immediately.

On the off chance that hell is real, people should try to be good.

It really wouldn't change anything for me. I obey God because I love and respect him.
