The ONLY way that I would ever punish a dog is to give him/her a 'time-out', accompnaied by a quiet verbal scolding.. As dogs are pack (family) oriented, that is THE most effective means of showing your displeasure..Any violecne breeds violence... When a dog is pysically punished, yeah, it works, but you need to understand canine psyche...When the pack leader disciplines his subordinate..the subordinate recognises the leadership of the dominant dog...because he is taught by this action, that 'might makes right'..
.However, at about 4 years old, the formerly subordinate dog steps into his own maturity, and begins to challenge the older dog for dominance..(just as many teenagers challenge their parents)... He is thinking.. I am bigger and stronger now, so I bet that I can take over leadership...Presto! You have an aggressive dog..and wonder where the aggression came from..as he was always so sweet before...
If a dog is trained with only 'time-out'...that is being shunned by his master..for only a few minutes....then he never learns to be confrontational, and you don't have to worry about him ever turning on family members....as he hasn't been taught that violence is the way to move up the dominance ladder..

don't use a crate for punishment, and expect him to still enjoy the crate as his den...Do ignore the dog..put in a room away from you..dogs forget what the heck they are being punished for after about 2 minutes...so any longer is only for YOUR psyche, not his..it does no good to punish a dog for something that happened while you were gone, or after the fact.. the misdeed has to be witnessed, and the dog caught in the act, for him to realize what he is being punished for..

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU0h7

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Go here for an awesome dog training program http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?d400

Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn t going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don t be one of them.

The best way of punishing a dog is to train him and not let him do whatever it is you think he needs correction for. Nobody can answer this question without any details. Punishment is not a solution, positive reinforcement for correct behaviour is what works.

Say no no. Do not spank the dog as some of these other non pet owners have suggested! Only makes them afraid of you. Give them a treat for doing something good!

Never spank the dog!!

Never hit your dog a stern voice is all you usually need. They know the different tones in your voice and void positive attention after you scould him. Hitting a dog will either make him afraid of you or some dogs can get aggressive.

Honestly this works
I recommend a shock Collar. My dog would never learn no matter what punishment we gave. WE YELLED,WE CRATED, WE TRRIED THE LOVE APPROACH, WE TRIED EVERYTHING

BUT nothing worked until I bought a shock collar within one week my dog was the most obiedent dog ever. We only need the shock collar for about two weeks and that ended all bad behavior. We then sold the collar on ebay and mde most of our money back.

point at what they did wrong and say no in a loud deep voice. don't spank them though unless they repeatedly do the same thing and telling them no doesn't work. then every time they do something right say good dog and give them a treat. they will forget about being bad and work on being good.
