There is no button or switch on the gun.

take gun in hand be sure its not loaded and take off safe then pull bolt all the way back until it reaches end then softly pull on trigger moveing bolt backwards softly until you feel it release then after cleaning return it the same way . if you still have trouble call local outdoors store for help they wont mind helping you its their job to keep your business

I'm not sure about this particular model. However, on most bolt action rifles there is a button or lever located towards the back of the bolt housing assembly that you push to let the bolt slide all the way out.

Have you tried pushing the bolt up sliding the bolt all the way back as you would to remove a round then push it further in the same direction and slide it all the way out of the rifle

the bolt release on the remingtons is in the inside of the front of the trigger guard just push up and pull the bolt out

There is a small button in front of the trigger guard. Hold that down while slidding the bolt to the rear. You will have to hold it down again to reinsert the bolt.

on the older models you depress the trigger while the bolt is all they way back. the newer models have a little square bolt release button near the trigger guard
