no the problem is not to add the numbers of kittens,as there is always someone ,willingly to take 1 ou 2 kittens in,but, the problem, for me is their crys of agony, when their hormones changes, but even if we have to sterilize them, without stop ,them from heat, theres is no point, because it's hard when ur neighbours complain about your cat mating calls, and crys at night, when their heat goes high

yes spay them PLEASE? they will be much healthier and live much longer..it will also stop this agonizing heat cycle..if its the cost of the spaying that you cant afford there are many programs around that will help with or even pay for this 4 you..call your local animal shelter for more info...and god in heaven please do NOT! listen to that woman who said to stick a q-tip in her vagina this is not only unsanitary and cruel but can lead you to legal trouble if anyone was to report you...good luck and if you need help finding a program to pay for the spaying email me at kyras_mommy121205@yahoo.com and the lady b4 me who mencioned the q-tip thing should know better because a cat will mate up until the end of her cycle and no pregnancy tricking will stop this...most cats even get pregnant by up to 3 males and board all 3 of thier kittens so yeah in other words they can be impregnanted more then once by more then one male..freaky huh?

I've heard that in some countries you can get injections of Depo-Provera, a birth control medication, for animals. It stops cats from going into heat, but it has to be done on a regular basis. Ask your vet about it. The best solution is, of course, to spay the cats. They'll be much happier, and there are some places that will do it for no cost in many Western countries.

First and foremost GET THEM SPAYED. Not only does it stop unwanted pregnancies, it can prevent certain diseases such as Pyometra (Pus filled uterus).

While in class to become a vet assistant I did hear of a way you can get the heat cycle to stop in cats. Basically take a q-tip with lubricant on it and insert just the very tip into the vagina. This should trick the body into thinking that a mating has just taken place causing a false pregnancy.

There is a pill we were able to obtain from the vet to stop our cat from going into heat. However, it is not very good for the cat and should not be used for long term. We live in Holland but I think the pill is pretty widely available. Ask your local vet- but please don't use this for more than a few months or so- getting your cats fixed is pretty inevitable and necessary to take care of as soon as possible for all of you to sleep well at night. :)

Get them fixed. You never know if a male cat will come around, and you don't want to add to the problem which causes MILLIONS of cats to be put to death every year.

Why are you not getting them spayed? That is the best relief.

The worst relief: having male cats around to impregnate them and breed kittens.

But no, not that I'm aware of. Really, it's best just to have them fixed.

Unfortunately, no. In fact, if you choose NOT to have them spayed/neutered, you will have to live with them spraying all over your house. The odor is definitely NOT pleasant.
