And they wouldnt let him wear slippers because he was out of dress code.Even though the stitches were ovbious and any kind of common sense could of brought the conclusion that regular shoes wouldnt do.Now my 16 year old tore his toenail all the way back and we have taped it down,he saw the Dr and he wrote a note that he needs to wear sandles.I didnt send him to school because I dont trust them to do the right thing. For example, let him wear his sandles, let him out of class 5 minutes early to avoid crowded halls and people stepping on his toe.Its like they are robots and common sense does not apply. These are the rules and no exceptions.Another issue I have is that both the boys have reading problems and have not had to do the TAKKS tests(texas test). But now that my 16 year old is a junior,he has to past it to move up a grade. The school,up to now has not done their job teaching him because until now they were not accountable for his grades and test scores because he was exempt.what now?

It's schools in general. Most schools have mandatory exit exams, and DRESS CODES and stuff. I am a product of the public school system (I graduated from high school last year). That's just the way it is. I've went through so much crap in high school as far as violations and stuff. I'm just happy college isn't like that. Tell your son to hold out until he gets to college, then he can get on the school board and voice his opinions FOR CHANGES.
