If you're having a top tooth pulled the worst part is the shot they give you in the roof of the mouth. After that you should just feel some pressure and you might hear some gross sounds.

The needle won't hurt it feels like a scratch or like you are tugging one strand of hair softly, and the numbing injection helps because i couldn't feel anything when the dentist extracted the tooth so don't worry about anything its for the best anyway but i recommend that you that you take some pain killers after the extraction for when the numb sensation wears off

NO...if you go to a good dentist, no dental procedure hurts...with todays technology there is no excuse for anyone being uncomfortable in the dentist chair...my big thing is a cleaning...lol...i've had everything you can imagine done to my teeth and the only thing that hurts me is a cleaning...but to answer your question, no, an extraction doesn't hurt at all...and it don't take long at all to get a tooth out...i mean like, maybe, a minute..not long at all...so don't worry yourself needlessly...you'll be surprised when your finished at how simple and painless it was...good luck !!!

I actually had 4 teeth removed at once (when I had braces, to make more space)! My dentist is cool because he numbs the spot for the novicaine shot with some goo and then gives the shot, so the shot doesn't hurt too much. You feel the pressure, but no pain until the novcaine wears off. I never got painkillers--my dentist said just take tylenol for the pain. Your mouth heals really fast, so it won't be too bad. The worst is when you have to have gauze in your mouth for the bleeding. I think that annoyed me more than anything!

My dentist pulled my tooth three weeks ago and it wasn't too bad. I couldn't feel a thing when my tooth was pulled, and I didn't really have much pain afterwards (no pain meds needed, just Tylenol).
My problem was that some bone was left in the tooth socket. It was really annoying, but I did not bother to tell the dentist about it. I just thought it was normal. However when I went to see my periodontist after two weeks, he pulled it and it felt 100 times better after that.
My point is, please do not hesitate to contact your dentist afterwards if you are feeling any discomfort! Good luck to you.

Extractions take place under a local anesthetic, same as fillings. You'll feel the vibrations of the drill and such during the procedure, but your jaw won't hurt until the anesthetic wears off. Your dentist will most likely prescribe you with painkillers to keep the pain down until your jaw heals.

They all do give you local anaestheisia at the extraction point, so it does NOT hurt at all when the dentist plunges the cleavers and*consored*..I will not go into the gruesome details.
Anyways, it wont hurt at all when you are in the dentists office. But the true party begins when you spend yr first 12 hrs at home, gorge on ice creams to fight the wearing off of the anaesthesia.Strong painkillers like Ibuprofen do the trick .That should do it.
so just chill after it and dont worry too much about it, believe me!

the shot hurts a bit, but after you are numbed up, you won't feel anything but the pressure. It is not very pleasant, but not too bad.
As far as afterward, if you follow the dentist's instructions and take your pain meds, it's pretty easy to recover.
Of course, if it is your wisdom teeth, or something, there is more pain involved, but modern Dentists are actually very good at taking care of the pain these days.Good Luck!

Once they tie the other end of the string to the door and slam it, it jerks the tooth free and only hurts for a minute.
I always drink a shot or two of whiskey first. That way, it doesn't hurt much.
