Don't worry. Dentists are very good at giving these shots. They will first apply a topical ointment to numb the area so that when they give you the shot you hardly feel it at all. Just close your eyes and relax.

The shots in the back of my mouth are like nothing at all, it's the shots in the front of my mouth that sting a bit. It feels like some pinching, but it's over in seconds!!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be just fine.

I had a shot once when I was younger and had a baby tooth pulled. It's like a pinch, it hurts, but not forever. The dentist I go to now rubs something on the gum to numb it a little, then when they give you the shot they kinda do something with your mouth, and I swear it doesn't hurt at all. I am always so nervous about the shot when I have to get a filling, but last time I was so surprised because I didn't feel it, that I was so happy and actually thanked the dentist because it didn't hurt!

I work for a dentist and am a baby when it is time for me to get work done. However, they have this stuff that is a topical anestetic that will numb the area BEFORE he gives the shot. It looks like a paste, or gel that is left on for a minute then you really don't feel much of anything. Also, if you think you are not totally numb, ask the doctor to test the area BEFORE he starts drilling to make you feel more at ease.

I have gotten my mouth shot before. If they give you laughing gas first it wont hurt at all but the filling hurts a lil bit but it goes away pretty soon and it might feel weird at first and you might be num but trust me if you have a good dentist it should barely bother you

It pains for some time and then gets numb. It is just like a pin prick. Just be brave and get through it.
