The sleep mode can be helpful, but terrible if you are burning a CD. I went away and let it burn to the CD. When I returned my PC had gone into the sleep mode with the screen blank, and tower light flashing. I moved the mouse to return, and found the program had shut down. All text was gone, and the program locked. I could only reboot. That CD was wasted. I want to keep the sleep mode from coming up. I'm not sure if the scren blanker would mess up a CD burn.

Generally, sleep mode won't kick in if the computer is doing any work....

But you can usually disable it in you power management settings- right click on your desktop to see your video settings, disable your screen saver, then click power to see how long your computer is waiting to go into sleep mode. You can always try the "Always On" power scheme as a good test.

Go to Control Panel > Power Options and set the timers for going into Sleep mode to Never.

right click on ur mouse go to porpities and go to screen saver and u can fix the time to when u want it to sleep sry but u can't disable it ><
