Hello, I am looking around for a bike for my 3 year old nephew,,what size would be right for him,,he can use training wheels? They had 2 sizes 12 and 16,,I am looking online so dont really know the sizes,,please help,,Thanks,,

My dad's philosophy was to buy the bike that was too big. It would fit me within a few months, as quickly as kids grow.

It depends on how tall he is, when my son was 4 he had a 12 inch bike.

If it's only for a year or two and he's averages size, get the 12 inch.

He should be able to stand straddling the bike with his feet flat on the ground, and have a couple inches room between his crotch and the horizontal bar in front of the seat.

My daughter is 4 and the 12" is about too small. It doesn't really help with ages though, it really matters more on how tall he is.
