Blaze Audio makes a software product called Rip Edit Burn. You can download it here. It costs around $30.00 for the full version. Blaze Audio has really good customer service. If you contact Blaze Audio within two days of receiving your serial key and tell them that the program does not work with your computer and you want to have the $30.00 charge returned to your credit card, they will do it. But don't wait any longer than two days and make sure to tell them that you tried everything to make the software work. Once the money has been credited back to your credit card, be sure to uninstall/delete the software.

The program allows you to choose the recording "source". Choose the "What U Hear" option. Press the red "record" icon. Then open Quicktime and play your video. When your video ends, close QuickTime. Then press the stop button on Rip Edit Burn.

Select just the part of the file which includes the music from your video. Then go to either Edit or File and choose "Save Selection To File" or "Copy Selection To File". A dialogue box should come up allowing you to choose the format in which you want to save the file. Formats include WAVE and MP3.

The other thing

Importing Audio
You can use iMovie to import audio you have created or audio tracks from a CD to accompany your video.

One form of audio would be simple narration - recording your voice reading a script to play with a video clip or a sequence of video clips.

virtualdub will do it, tmpeg might do it. you need to demux the audio and video. separate the audio and video. in virtualdub it'll save it as uncompressed wav, the you convert back to mp3 or whatever. I use to do it a lot when converting avi's that had ogg audio (a lot of asian movies) to dvd or avi's with mp3 to play on my phillips. Goto www.doom9.org. they have tutorials on everything about converting audio video ect.
