All your answers are great, w/ one exception....
I've always been really open & honest w/ him, & we could always talk. But now he's getting older, I'm wondering if he needs a man to talk to about some things? I'm a nurse, & have three older brothers. LOL!! So I know the things on his mind....I'm just a little hurt that he isn't asking me the questions I know he wants to!!

With movies, television and his buddies the way they are these days, I think the questions start coming a lot sooner than they used to. My son was six when he started asking questions about certain things he'd heard. He was still very innocent. I tried to keep it where my kids were comfortable asking questions.

My son was 8 and daughter was 7 when they both came up to me and started asking me questions about sex. I have a very open communication with them and that is why they like talking to me about everything instead of their Dad. They were asking how babies are made and i told them the truth. Then we were watching Everybody loves Raymond and it was about Ray's parents making love 5x a week and both of my kids turned around and asked how many times a week is normal and how many x a week i did that with dad. I was very surprised and laughed out loud but they insisted i answer. Kids now are way more advanced than we were, and there was no way i could of talked to my parents about sex, I don't think i really ever did and i wish they would of. This is why i am so open and honest to their questions. I give you high five for being a single mom i can only imagine how difficult this may be, I am married but he works long hours and comes home way after the kids are asleep and the kids don't see him in the morning when they leave for school because he is still asleep maybe this is why they talk to me so much. Be honest to your child, and don't lie to your son about sex or how babies are made. I over heard my kids telling their friends that the best friend they have is their Mom because she is so cool and they can talk to me about anything, It was the most awesome feeling. My oldest is 13 and she just started asking about it.. it started when her friend wrote her a note that said she kissed a boy could she be pregnant... i laughed so hard but not in front of her neways i sat down with her and talked about what happens and the consequences and if she has any other ?'s i would be there and to please let me know when she does for the first time i promised her i would not be mad but i need to know to help her protect herself .. and i also pointed out the responsibility she has to her body to respect herself and wait .. if your son is asking then you should answer don't make him look somewhere else and get wrong info.. don't go into graphic detail but don't tell him he's too young or ignore it ... good luck

My son is 5 and is very interested i where babies come from and how did he get in and out of my tummy!! It can be difficult but you have to be open and honest with children, they will accept what you tell them. Try not to be embarrased when answering his question as sex and nakedness is totally natural. In answer to his questions don't be too grafic but simplify it so he understands what you are saying.
