No it is not poisonous! Regular old lettuce doesn't have much nutrition in it...you might want to try dark orange and dark green vegetables...carrots, broccoli, peas, kale, squash, beans of all sorts. Red cabbage is actually good for your little guy. Brussels sprouts are good as well. I'm glad to hear that you are trying to feed vegetables to your little guy. It will make him much healthier and he will live much longer. Easy on the seeds!

I know for a fact that lettuce is not poisonous to them. My birds love it because of the water it contains. I don't think cabbage is, either...and I have done some reading. -Bet they like lettuce best.

Do not feed: uncooked milk or dairy products, avocado, chocolate, or anything containing chocolate or caffiene. Avoid iceburg lettuce as the water content is high and nutritional value low and it, as well as head cabbage has been reported as the cause of diarrhea.

True...lots of water and little nutrition.

If you want to give your bird something good to eat, try kale (lettuce-like produce with lots of vitamin A) sweet potoato and spinach. Avoid corn and peas if you can...more sugar and not as much nutrition.

It's not poisonous, but it will give them diarhea cause it doesn't have a lot of nutrients and it's mostly just water.
