Don't worry!
I have a Quaker that occasionally sleeps upside down, and occasionally she sleeps on her stomach on a nest-like contraption in her cage.
One of my Greys sleeps with his tail in the air and his head pointed down on a perch, and my other Grey sleeps hunkered down on her swing.
I also know a woman who has dog beds for her Macaws. They sleep on their backs or sides in the dog beds.
As long as they are getting 10 to 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night, they are good to go!

Cockatiels do not sleep with their heads on their backs. They usually will move to the highest perch in their cage, and just sit straight. Some do prefer having a sleeping tent (a tent shaped piece of fabric-usually fleece with 2 perches attached at the bottom) that they will sit inside of when they go to sleep.

No, neither of my parrots sleep like that, none of the finches or the parakeets...
Maybe not all birds sleep like that! My one parrot used to sleep hanging from the top of her cage! So does one of the keets once in a while. I call them Bennie the Bat when they do that!
I wouldn't worry, but you can ask a vet next time you visit one.

My mother and I used to breed and raise cockatiels and it is not anything to worry about that yours does not tuck his head in his back. Many of the cockatiels that we raised did not tuck their heads on a regular basis. I never knew it to mean they were sick or unhealthy if they did or did not tuck their heads into their backs.

My cockatiel does stay up along with her head below her wing, the two, besides the fact that i think of i've got seen her do it a pair of times. I had a budgie whilst i became into youthful who might by no skill enable you catch him dozing. I by no skill observed him sleep together with his head below his wing till he became into lots older. i might say it is thoroughly ordinary if yours did sleep together with his head below his wing or if he did no longer.

It has been my experience that with their heads tucked back or under their wing means they are sick.
