Pinto is a shade, a useless ringer for "gray" or "Black" Or "chestnut," no longer a breed... so telling us he's a "Pinto" would not advise some thing at the same time as speaking about how a lot nutrition the pony ought to get daily. sure, the dimensions helps, yet extra importantly, what form of work is the pony doing? How previous is the pony? those are the failings we want to attraction to close. I complication that you want US to inform you techniques a lot to feed a horse, that you're literally not operating with a coach to coach you this stuff so that you recognize the techniques quite of only a flat answer. you spot - each and every horse is diverse. some 15.a million hh horses can devour a million lb of grain an afternoon and be completely positive. some 15.a million hh horses want 6 lbs an afternoon to be positive-- its no longer some thing we may be able to wisely answer with out extra information on the pony - or maybe then, quite seeing the pony and attending to attraction to close him is helpful. once you're leasing the pony, the barn manager (assuming they are solid at their job) will recognize this stuff that would really help you out. i'd actually inspire you to attend on leasing a horse-- i'd communicate over with this horse's proprietor and ask in case you could grow to be a "operating pupil" or "Intern" so that you could study extra about horses, get an practise from this human being so that you could make large judgements with out human beings on-line telling you issues that ought to or would no longer be properly for this horse. you ought to spend a at the same time as gaining knowledge of further before you employ- this way you could provide your horse the most acceptable existence plausible

A 50lb bag of performance pellets costs me about $15.

Just hay and grain would cost me about $60. a month.

I pay $150 for pasture board at a very nice stable with many extras. It is about 35 miles from town though, by town at a comparible place would be about $400.

Well.. horse feed is a bit costly... Most towns/cities have a FEED STORE.. the names are not the same like Wendy's and are different names in different locales.. Look in the yellow pages in your local for feed store and see where it is located.. You could go there and ask what type of feed they have, etc... Naturally, the grains will be more expensive(such as OATS which horses like) to alfalfa hay which they also like and would be less expensive by the bale.

Ive bought everything from cheap to expensive...my cheapest 50lb bag of horse feed was about $8-10 (Purina Horse Chow) To $18.00 for a 50lb bag. (Triple Crown Lite) and they vary in prices between those two. Be careful because if you buy cheap, you get cheap.
Hope that was helpful

It varys by type of feed, quality of feed, and availability of the feed that you want. The best thing to do is check with various local suppliers to find your best deal. You could also check on the internet for bulk suppliers.
