Yep, Road-Runners are real. Nope, we never hit one with our car, but you can see them running all over the desert states like Texas and Arizona. They're a medium-sized bird; brown and tan.

The roadrunner can fly for short distances, but they are reluctant to do so. When they stand statuelike, they are hunting prey and when they strike with their very sharp beak, if you blink you will miss seeing it. Yes they are very fast runners. About 12 inches tall and 18 inches long. The bird in the picture is a male. The hen does not have the red blaze behind the eye.

Yes; they are the state bird New Mexico. They're an ordinary-sized bird - 20 to 24 inches long. They run along the ground, and can only fly a few feet as a rule, but they are very fast. They kill snakes to eat, and are common in desert areas of the southwest United States.

They're just a few inches longer than a chicken: 20-22". They look nothing like old "meep-meep", and they have more of a mohawk than an umbrella plume of purple feathers on their heads. Here's a picture of one:

Anything that can move as fast as around 17 mph can match wits with a roadrunner. The most impressive thing that they can do is kill rattlesnakes easily.

Roadrunner species in many cases vary length-wise from 18-24 inches in length from tail to beak. The roadrunner is giant, narrow, black-brown and white streaked floor chook with a particular head crest. It has lengthy legs, reliable ft, and an outsized darkish invoice. The tail is extensive with white pointers on the three outer tail feathers. they have a sparkling patch of skin at the back of the interest that's shaded blue proximally to pink distally. The lesser roadrunner is quite smaller, no longer as streaky, and has a smaller invoice. they are large lengthy-legged birds with lengthy thick darkish charges and lengthy darkish tails. they are terrestrial, and although able to flight, they spend maximum of their time on the floor.

There really are roadrunners. However they are only about a foot or 2 tall and live out in desert type areas where they move quickly across the ground looking for bugs, small lizards and small snakes.

Hey....It's our state bird. They are lots of fun to watch. Quick little devils and very curious. They are not all that tall. Maybe a foot and sort of thin. Heck look them up.
