What is the purpose of life?
Have you ever thought there must be something more to life than just living day to day?
There is—much more. Your life has a divine purpose.
God, your Heavenly Father, has prepared a marvelous plan for your happiness. When you realize that God has a plan for you, it is easier to understand why you are on this earth. God wants all of His children to progress and become more like Him. This time on Earth provides opportunities for you to grow and progress. Coming here allows you to:
Receive a physical body.
Exercise agency and learn to choose between good and evil.
Learn and gain experience that will help you become more like your Heavenly Father.
By following our Heavenly Father’s plan, you—like all of His children—can someday return to live with Him and with your loved ones. You can have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come.

This is all the life we will ever have and since there is no afterlife to have a second go, let's do the BEST we can to make ourselves and others HAPPY without breaking the laws WE AGREED UPON. Morality is based not on belief in an aferlife but on belief in THIS PRESENT LIFE.

I choose to believe that there is an afterlife. But I think that even if I did not...., I would take pride in doing a good job, being a good person, educating myself and in general living an enjoyable and high spirited life. Life is amazing and uncanny...just take the time time to look and really 'see', to listen and really 'hear'. There is beauty everywhere, I watch my violets grow from nothing but water and a little soil... they form a big plant with glorious flowers of all colors. Live!!!!! Come on, join in !!!

I get up in the morning because I enjoy living
I am good because I enjoy helping others, and I feel all people should be good.
I follow laws to avoid jail.
There's no point to accomplish anything, it just gives you a nice feeling when you do.
Seriously, the first question, if you don't have an answer to that...I feel sorry for you. <--that's a general statement, not just intended for the questioner.

What a question! I am living and loving and having fun and helping others when I can and getting great satisfaction and joy out of living in the here and now. This is the only life I can truly count on and in Judaism, the afterlife is not important...as in Buddhism, it is right living in this world that's important.

Because we're smart intelligent people who can figure out what needs to be done to live in a good society. If you want to live a happy lie, which I do, certain morals need to be followed.

Fear IS a good motivator, but it isn't the only one. Wanting nice things, not wanting to be in jail....for starters.
I prefer to be happy. If I don't accomplish some things, and if I don't have some nice things, I'm not going to be terribly happy.

I don't base my decisions or my morality off of some imagined reward or punishment, but because of my own convictions.
Do you REALLY only follow laws and work to make your life better because whatever god you worship told you to? Or is it partly from a feeling of social responsibility and self-worth?

well Sinful people are very afraid of After life...Specially the law of karma...
They want to do every nasty activity and be excused by confessing it ...so that they can engage in such activity again..
