In the christian religion it says to "love thy neighbor" (correct me if I am wrong)... but christians also happen to look down upon the Gay society and see it as a sin (correct me on this too, if i am wonrg)... what happens if your neighbor is gay?.. what do you do?.. either way you break commitment to your faith.

so im guess the christian community got in on this one... but it still does not make sense... you will love someone but hate their lifestyle??? how does that work... gay people are never going to ask for forgiveness for this "sin" so they will not be accepted into heaven... so how the hell do you not call this hate... a form of rejection... for sinning you go to hell... and i think that that seems like a hatefull place to be

I think they would tell you to "love the sinner hate the sin" but I don't believe being gay is a sin. how can you be penalized for being born a certain way?

You love the sinner, but hate the sin. Just like God does. There is a different between judging a person as a whole and judging whether or not an action or behavior is wrong. We all sin, that doesn't make us bad people. There is such a thing as righteous judgement
1 Thessalonians 5:
21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.

Homosexuality is evil in God's eyes - see Romans 1. I don't look down on the person, just the sin they are commiting.

Love thy neighbor, does not mean only love the guy one house down from you. It means Love all people, your friends your enemys, those who are righteous and those who are sinful.

Jesus did not say anything about gays, he didn't have to. At that time everyone knew that it was wrong.

Do you think it is impossible to love someone who is a sinner? If so, I think you don't understand what Love means.

If your gay neighbor comes over to borrow some sugar, and you have some to spare, give it to him. If he asks you out on date, just let him know that you don't that kind of thing because you are a christian.

Just because you are christian does not mean that you have to condim him to hell for being a sinner. Jesus came for the sinner he did not come for the righteous.

Those Christians that hate gays are still Christians, but they are also sinners. I love the christian haters just like I love the gays. I just wish they would shut up once in a while.

Please don't group all Chrisitian together. I am a Christian and I believe Gays can go to heaven! Why not...we are not the judge of people, we have no rights...I do love my Gay neighbor and my lesiban friends..Are they going to heaven, I know that most of them are, some are sitting on the fence. The only way you can not get into the Kindgom of Heaven is by not taking Jesus Christ into your heart. That's it. You have to BELIEVE in him, as your Lord and Savior. Period...end of discussion, I am a Believer, I don't have a organized religion, I was baptisted as a Baptist, but I no longer go to the church. Because of things just like this...some people(Christians) think you should not befriend Gay people, you shouldn't have anything to do with them....NO! Jesus preached LOVE, not judgement....if we only did LOVE our neighbors like we should, we no longer need government, police, the military, no big brother watching over national security...if we only truely loved our neighbors. I try ever day to treat everyone with love, I try not to judge,(I do fail at that..working on it) we are suppose to love another as we would have them love us..Simple right...I don't understand why religions and people make it so hard, LOVE, I am not flowerchild or a hippy, not say there is nothing wrong with that. But, I hope I am saying this right, because you asked such an important question. You are so right, people who look down on anyone because of their regilion, color, sexual perference, their situation in life, are sinning. And to me that's a biggie. Because Jesus and God asks us to LOVE. That's no love, love is understanding and accepting...

Thank you so much for the questions, appreciate the time and the opportunity to let you know not all Christians are closed minded and sinners.....

God bless us all.........

As a Christian, I know that many of my brothers and sisters stray from the word. They tend to forget the two most important lessons: 1 - Hate the sin, not the sinner. 2 - It is not for man to judge another but for God to judge. You can disagree with the gay lifestyle without having any ill feelings for the human being that lives it.

It's not that they look down on them. They just voice the opinion that they think they're wrong. That's all.

Now, I'm not saying all Christians. Because some don't hold true to the beliefs, and make other Christians look really bad for it. But Christian faith is to love everyone, even those you believe are sinners and "damned to hell".

Hope it helps!

Christians should not hate anybody. What they do hate is what the Bible calls sin. They do not look down on gay people, just gay acts which God lists as sin.

Hope that helps.

We should treat all people right, but we don't have to approve of their lifestyle. God told us to love the person, but He hates sin and tells us to stay away from it. I think that a lot of gay people don't want equality, they want for people to OK their lifestyle. If people do what God says not to do, they wont be comfortable, and getting others to agree with the things wont make them feel any more comfortable, because its conviction from the Holy Spirit they feel. This goes for all sins and all people.

Not at all. Yes, the Bible forbids homosexuality. But as my neighbor, I can be kind to you, cordial to you. My neighbor may also be someone who votes for someone I don't approve of, or wears clothing I don't like, or belong to a church I don't agree with.

I will still be kind and loving because that is what God has done for me. I can hate the sin, but love the sinner.

Jesus ate with the sinners, tax collectors, and the unclean. In today's terms, he would eat with the lawyers, bankers, and probably homosexuals. Jesus taught us to love our neighbors. It's not a sin to love someone that's a sinner. That's between them and God. You're not breaking a committment to God by loving your neighbor.

I think you're confusing friendship love with romantic love. I'm a girl, and if one of my friends comes out to me and says she's a lesbian, I'm not going to stop being friends with her, I still love her as a friend, and would support her as a person, just not her lifestyle. However, if she started coming on to me in a romantic way, then that would be a problem. Engaging with her in romantic love would be a sin, but not having friendship love. Does that make sense? I hope that helps!

We Christians accept the Bible as the word of God, and God says that same-sex relationships is sin. We don't "look down at them"

If I come across a person who happens to be "Gay" and he/she is in trouble and asks me for my help, I will help that person if I possibly can. This is what it means to "love your neighbour"
