Maybe because..they have mohawks? And that they don't care what you think? The music that they listen to?

i think a lot of the "punk" kids you see these days are tiny pipsqueaks who probably used to get shoved into their locker. but around the time they went to highschool they started growing a mohawk or faux hawk, got a beat up ripped up jean or leather jacket and put nofx and misfit patches all over them, and like magic nobody wants to touch them.
every kid i met fitting this description was a nerdbucket.

They just dont care what you or anyone thinks of them. Self confident, either that or they are making up for their lack of self esteme.
