Hm, while this could have been a legitimate question, the fact that you knocked what people believe is really low...
As to your question, why would you want to take money out of a collection plate? First off, I am sure no one would say anything to you, but that would ultimately be a really low ball thing to do... While there are different collections, usually the main collection is based on donations people make out of the goodness of thier hearts in order to maintain the grounds, buildings, and upkeep of the area in which they worship... Other collections truly are for the poor, the suffering, or other people in need. The money collected then, is given to the different organizations, groups, and peoples that help the por, suffering or needy... Such as the victims of 9/11...the victims of the Tsunami...the victims in New Orleans...People that really need it. If a poor person were to go into a church office, and ask for money or help, the people would help you. It is dependant on how needy you are though. The churches arent just going to randomly hand out money to people on the streets. That would be cause for riots. Take a second and really think about the question you are asking... Even if you dont believe what other people do, the fact that they believe and FOLLOW it should be grounds to tell you that, yes they would give the money to people less fortunate than themselves...

Collection plate is for all of the needs of the church, not just the poor but boring things like paying for the lights, the heat, the paper that the programs are printed on,the pay for the choir director, organist, and the pastor and the phone bill.Taking money out of the collection plate will get you in a world of trouble.Asking the pastor for help will get a better resp once.

Good question! Yes, by all means, go ahead and get your cut. But, first be sure the collection plate is "for the poor"! It's rather for the PRIEST! And he'll call the cops on you!
Hmmm.... let's see, besides listening to fairy tales and morality plays.... oh yeah, they put their money in the collection plate!!! LOL!!

That would be unethical if you did that and I am sure the people around you would give you dirty looks if not make you put it back. If you are poor then I am sure you need to go to the head of the church and tell him and not just take your cut. By the way and the churches I have been to the collection plate is for the church mostly. They have to pay there staff, bills, etc. My church has a poor box for the poor people and baskets to drop off food.

If this is a real question I think the church collects the money collected and then does a number of things with the money including giving some to the poor. They have to pay salaries for all the people who work at the church utility bills upkeep of the building and then they have organizations that they give to periodically.

if you are really into religion, rich or not, you will not dare to take the money on the collection plate. And the setting of the church alone will make you think twice.
If you are not religious, ask yourself if you have any conscience at all, then you will know if you will be able to take the money from the collection plate or not.

The collection plate is usually used for paying the pastor and funding church events. Some of which might include helping the poor. No you shouldn't take from it, instead you get involved with one of their programs for the poor. I don't agree with it but that's the answer.

The collection plate is not for the poor. It's to pay for running the church and the pastor's salary. And whatever else the church decides on.

You've got to be kidding. The collection plate helps support not just gifts to the poor, but other church activities, such as paying for the maintenance of buildings, buying hymn books, etc. Taking from the plate would be stealing.

I urge you to attend a worship service at a small bible chuch.
Do not bring any money with you, money isnt what they are about at small churches. Money is given by the members to keep the doors open and to support the missionaries and the poor or temprarily needy.
Attend a couple or three times just to get a personal view of what it is like and what is done.
Then read and reread the bible. This should be done to confirm or deny what is being taught at the church itself.
Remember, no church will be perfect, for if you find one that says it is, it will have no human members.
If you are truley needy, let someone at the church know of your need. They will do what is best for you, but you need to let them know, they cannot read hearts or minds.
