A small piece of cake won't kill you. You can always eat less of whatever else you have that day to make up for it. If you don't indulge yourself every now and then (in moderation) all of your sacrifice will just build and build until eventually you snap and break your healthy eating habits by gorging yourself.

It won't be bad because if you don't have a small piece of cake today or anytime you get a temptation it will all get suppressed now but when you end your diet it will come out together and you might go a binge eating and gain back the lost pounds. Better to have a small piece of cake today than having a whole cake tommorow.

No, it's not bad to treat yourself once in a while...in fact, it's better if you do (to keep from just going all out and really feeling guilty).
You're not going to kill your metabolism by eating a piece of cake...and as you said, you can do a little extra on your workout that day and/or the next or also maybe cut a few calories from whatever meals you have later in the day...
Either way, it's okay to have that treat...just make it a small piece. :)

You should not deprive yourself of a piece of cake. You are working hard to lose, and should celebrate the fact that you are doing something for yourself. A Small piece of cake won't hurt you. It's always that big piece that does it. Enjoy your cake . You are doing an aw some job. So, you just keep on keeping on. You will love your results. God Bless you.

Being on a weight loss program doesn't mean giving up all sweets, junk food, and "bad for you" stuff. It just means that eating stuff like that should be the exception, not the rule. So one reasonably-sized piece of birthday cake with a scoop of ice cream will not kill your weight loss efforts. In fact, most nutritionists recommend that you have one "cheat meal" or "cheat day" every week where you can eat whatever you want -- as long as you don't stuff -- so you don't have to feel so deprived. Many nutritionists say you can have dessert-type stuff every day as long as you don't overdo and as long as the rest of your diet and exercise program is in check. So go ahead, have a piece of cake and a scoop of ice cream if you want.

I have found that the worst thing to do while dieting, is deprive yourself. Eat a small piece, and don't stress about it. If you're working out, your metabolism should be higher. One small piece of cake won't kill you. Eat it, enjoy it, and move on.
Good luck!

Absolutely not. Remember that there are 3600 calories in 1 pound. The key to a diet as well as eating in general is moderation, not elimination. Plus, cake will not affect your metabolism. I wouldn't even bother with the "extra" in your workout.

There's no need to abstain from the cake - it's a celebration, and it's not like you're having it every other day. But there's no need to stuff yourself with it either.

If your dieting by severe carb restriction (e.g. Atkins), it will break the process. At that point, decline the cake, or take a few days away from the diet (but watch what you eat). Otherwise, don't skip life because of a few calories.

Have a little peice. It really won't kill you. Just try to burn the extra calories before you go to bed tonight, and eat really healthy the rest of the week.
