gburbmommy, if you happen back here, no I am not so self-centered to think my father cares about every thing that happens to me. Do I pray to my dad when I have job problems or car problems? No. He has his own life, and I have mine. I admire him, look up to him, and am thankful for him, but he doesn't need to know every little thing about my life nor am I self-centered enough to think he would care.

Are YOU so self-centered that you think your father really cares everything about you? I would hope your answer is yes! I mean, he's your Dad, right?

Well, it's the same thing with our heavenly Father.

Galatians 3:26: "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus."

Galatians 4:6: "And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"

Abba is the Hebrew word for Papa. So God is my heavenly Papa. Knowing that, yes, I really do think he cares deeply about me, and about everyone else who is his child.

Again, asking questions from your own ignorance is not flattering to you. Try a little research before you tell the world that you failed to do your homework.

"29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny[a]? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows" (Matthew 10:29-31 (New International Version))

"6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies[a]? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
8"I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God." (Luke 12:6-8 (New International Version))

Yes, God knows me intimately, thoroughly, and personally. He also knows you too.

Selnyk,
Actually I don't see what He sees in me. I hate myself. And I'm not B'S' ing.

Jesus said that He even knows the number of hairs on my head. I'm sure that number changes regularly. I don't even care to attempt it.

He notices when a sparrow falls, and He considers me of more value than many sparrows.

He wants me to trust Him, and there are tons of promises that I can rely on him to uphold. And He has done that with me personally.

So maybe your perspective is off. You don't believe in Him, yet you spend so much time ridiculing Him, why? It is because you are jealous of those that do? Or is it that you hate us? And hate Him? I find either possiblity plausible.

You question and question, never running out of curiosity. Do you want to be His disciple too?

Yes, because God is love, He cares about you, me, everyone in this world. He even knows the number of tears we have shed. He grieves when we grieve, and He is always there to comfort us. So yes, I know He cares about me and about you. He loved you, me, all of us so much that He sent His only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to pay the price for our sins. I think that shows just how great His love is for each of us.

Loving God, and accepting him is not being self centered.

1 Peter 5:7 says God cares for me.
Either Peter was lying or telling the truth.
Since Jesus chose him as one of the Apostles, chances are great he wasn't a liar.

I don't think that God pays much attention to us here. We decided to come here for a purpose. After that, we are mostly on our own. Look at the world today, could anyone actually think He gets involved?

Are you so self-centered to believe your limited wisdom exceeds even His very existence?

Besides, if you're so convinced He doesn't exist, why do you battle so hard to convince everyone else that you're right?
