"and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you." Leviticus 11
And furthermore, why did God say you shall not eat they are unclean to you. Obviously there is a way to make them safe to eat as we do this all the time now. Why did God not just tell them how to correctly prepare it. He gives them guidelines for everything else in the Old Testament.

Do you know the difference between the Old Testament and the new Testament and what really happened with the arrival of Jesus and what were the purposes of rules and laws that were given by God to mankind as told in the Bible !
Do you want to know or are you just trying to be funny ?

I've noticed you've been asking questions and this one makes sense. Leviticus was given to Israel for directions in living as a holy nation in fellowship with a holy God-physical, moral and spiritual. All of these physical exercises were given to teach sprituial truths.

I'm not sure of why? But I do know Jesus cleanses our sins and that the bible also says don't eat shellfish. I have seen my Pastor eat shrimp and so do I.
If we took the bible literally word for word no Christians would have hands or eyes. The bible says if your eyes offend you pluck them out. If your hand offends you cut it off. We are all sinners and have seen things we shouldn't have seen and done things we shouldn't have done. So therefore if we take the OT literally we should be blind and handless.
Thank God we are forgiven and Jesus came to save us all.

You will get plenty of Christian spin on this. And seeing you reference the "Old Testament" I assume that is what you are looking for.
If instead of just causing a commotion you seek to learn the truth try asking someone who actually keeps and understands the laws what the meaning of them are.

That commandment is for Jews only. As far as the Bible is concerned, non-Jews are free to enjoy as much bacon as they wish. The only dietary commandment for non-Jews in the Hebrew Bible is to not eat the limb of a living animal.

According to the new covenant in Christ we as Christians are exempt from the Levitical laws of clean/unclean food. Read in Acts how Peter had visions of frogs and turtles. Or read in Romans how Paul and Peter had debates about gentiles and Jews having fellowship together.

Perhaps a little more time reading the Bible with the attitude of understanding it would help. It appears that Acts chapter 10 has escaped you.
9About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
