I have heard soo many stories of sexual predators luring children in from the internet. I have been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life for sometime, when I finally decided I wanted to help in this fight. I am 19. What could I do to get in on this? Any information would be helpful.

I know this is singles and dating but i already tried the law inforcement section...i just need some more suggestions.

Like so many things, it depends on who you know. If you are without law enforcement experience you might talk with your county sherrif or consider taking appropriate administration of justice classes at a local college and ask a professor or counselor in the department. I'm sure there is a fair amount of training involved. Another consideration is police or patrol academy if you want to become an officer for the city, county or state. A member of the highway patrol in your area could be very helpful if you have such a friend.

Don't consider going in on your own. You'll only cause problems for yourself and the legal system. You have to network with a legitimate law enforcement agency for this sort of work. It is a noble cause, IMHO.

Well there are many ways you can go about it, you can do the SHAQ thing and be a7'1" miami beach cop. And you won't be turning into a mother anytime soon so you can't become a member of Maspal, (mother's against sexual predators at large). But myspace has a new thing where they are helping to crack down on sexual predators...maybe you can look into that I supplied a link in the sources
GODD LUCK!

Good question I wish I had a solid answer for you.
I would guess that taking down sexual predators would be something like Neighbourhood watch, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) or Guardian Angels. These are some of the "Take back the neighbourhood groups" or "Legal Vigilantes groups" that may have some further info.
Hope this helps !

You could always do what I am kind of doing. I leave the laws to the people who are there to fight them..but I run my own site. If I find someone is acting in a preditory manor to someone else on the board, and the other person complains, I ban them. I only had to do it once, but My boards are a little better for it, I think, and the guy appologized(he said he was only doing it as a joke, because he was drunk, but his advances that night weren't wanted by the other person;))

try to educate the parent to be more vigilant over kids Internet usage that's where the problem arises from far too many parents are couch potatoes and have nothing to do with the children today kids have nothing to do and anything that was fun for a child to do is now illegal like skate boarding on the sidewalks in parking lots thereby making this internet a something to do how many parents are involvedwith children activities

Call your local FBI agent/office (most cities have one) and ask for advise. Maybe the investigative department of your local newspaper can offer suggestions. Be very careful about investigating on your own. It may get you labeled as a predator. Best of luck.

Pose as a young child on line, invite one of these creeps over. When they walk in the door beat the ever loving crap out of them. When they call the police what are they going to tell them?, that they were looking to have sex with a young child and instead they got their *** kicked???

If this happens enough maybe it would cut down on Internet predators.

I am serious also, if enough people were to do this I promise you cases such as the one you were referring to would all but go away.

i heard about a lady that is looking for terrorists in the internet.
she's like a detective. searching tru homepages and chatting up people pretending that she is a terrorist too...she caught a guy trying to sell military information...she turned to the fbi and talked to them. so he got caught.

guess you could do the same kind of thing. pretend that you are an innocent little girl/boy...but i guess you should probably talk to the police if you could be any help for them....if you just go and accuse people to be abusers you are the one that might end up in trouble!

good luck!

Mmm. So you're a young and presumably single male calling yourself Lucifer, you wear a mask, and you want to be employed in a job which will enable you to monitor children's chat rooms and the downloading practices of paedophiles, for the public good.

Just what is it that's supposed to convince us you're the right sort of person those of us with children would like to do a job like that?
