I am trying to write what has happened, over the years of my life, in a letter to my adopted son who is now 8. He won't get to read it until he is much older. I felt I should leave this for him for I am an older mom (61) and wish him to have some sense of who I really am and was.

Why does it have to be ‘a letter’?
You are sixty-one years young… Take your time… Make it a book !!!

Start by writing about how you see yourself as a person…. What is important to you… What makes you who you are.

Write about why you considered the idea of adopting someone.

Write about how much you have grown to love him, and what a change it made to your life to have him sharing your life with you !!!

I am sorry I am confused you adopted him or you gave him up for adoption. Either way make sure you put the reasons you thought of adoption. Tell him how beautiful adoption is. Tell him funny stories and good memory's, include pictures and be very sweet and comforting. Tell him that you love him very much.

Tell the stories of your life that helped you grow and the lessons that you learned from them. That is useful information.
