i hear that www.allrecipes.com is a good one to check out. apparently you can type in the ingredients you have and they will make you a recipe. tomatoes go in first. be sure to peel them first or you will get these nasty little hard, dried up skins in your sauce. definately brown the meat. and see if you can find some actual tomato sauce around somewhere so that you don't have to season your sauce. remember to keep the meat on top in the crock pot so it stays moist, that way cooked with steam instead of just heat. ;)

That's a friend's bolognese recipe, everybody love it !

You need :
- garlic chopped thinly (remove the core, it's better for the digestion)
- sausage meat
- pulp tomato
- tomato purée
- olive oil
- herbes de province (thyme, basil…)
- salt, pepper

Directions :
- brown the garlic in some olive oil in a pan
- when it's brown, add the meat, and mince it in the pan with a wood spoon
- when the meat is half cook, add the tomato pulp, the tomato purée, the herbes de provence, salt and pepper (taste your sauce to decide what you want to add)
- stir well
- let cook slowly while you cook the spaghetti in some boiling water
- when the spaghetti are cooked, add the Bolognese in the pasta, and eat when it's warm

Honestly, it's better when the meat is cook before, otherwise the meat is just boiled...

Bon appétit !

You really shouldn't try to cook the hamburger in the crock pot. You'll end up with a sauce you and your guests won't like.

Here's my recipe. If you don't have any of these other ingredients, use what you do have.

3 lbs fresh (seeded) or canned tomatoes
1 lb hamburger
4 cloves garlic minced
1 small onion finely chopped
1/3 cup chopped celery
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. sage
1 Tbs. parsley flakes
1/2 fresh carrot finely chopped
1 pint fresh mushrooms sliced
Salt
Olive Oil

If using fresh tomatoes, scoop and throw out seeds. Chop tomatoes and place in crock pot on high setting.

Heat olive oil in pan. Add garlic, onion, celery, carrot, and salt. Cook for 1-2 minutes until onion is soft. Add to sauce. In same pan, brown hamburger, drain grease, and add to the crock pot. Slice mushrooms and add to pot. Add 1 tsp. salt., along with the basil, parsley, and sage.

You will have to cook the ground beef before, otherwise all of the grease from the ground beef will be in your spaghetti sauce and you don't want that.try this it doesn't involve the crock pot.
peel and dice your tomato's small, put into sauce pan bring to boil then reduce heat to simmer.
add approx 1 cup diced onion.
add 1 rounded tablespoon of parsley and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning.
1 teaspoon of black pepper
add salt to your taste.
add garlic to taste, i like garlic so I put a lot in.
simmer until tomato's reduce down to sauce.
brown ground beef in a separate pan until brown, then drain off as much fat as you can,(I use a colander for a strainer)
add ground beef to sauce, simmer on low heat (barely boiling)
start noodles, by the time the noodles are done your sauce should be ready
I usually use canned tomato sauce but I have used fresh tomato's.

Sorry hon. You have to cook the meat before or it will break down like wet sawdust in the sauce. Had it before at someone's house. Since You're having guests you don't want to get it wrong.

Add the tomatoes now. They take awhile to cook down.
