That is an excellent Link. It will give Links to other pages for ideas.

I have been through 2 Deployments, and I sent M&M's for they don't melt due to the hard shell. I also sent Biscotti/various things from the Backrie/shelf TV Dinners *these are just on the shelf where the pre-packaged meals are and need no freezing*/ramen noodles/books/CD's/Letters...

Oh, he was also registered with www.anysoldier.com and he got MANY letters/packages from Supporters. He shared with the Soldiers where he was, as well as some were sent to the Unit Chaplain to share. I had the stuff come to our APO as my DH was on the constant move. We have made some wonderful friends from him being with AnySoldier.....

Good luck!
HOOAH!

I'm not a military wife but I come from a military family. I've adopted 3 soldiers through www.soldiersangels.com. It really depends on where your guy is located and what he has access to. Some have access to a fridge and micro but others don't. Usually DVDs, XBox games, Books, Magazines, Junk Food, Cards, Cards, Cards! Sometimes the PX will run out of items very quickly. Stuff like shirts and socks may run out or they'll only have an XXL. Your hubby can tell you what he and his men need. Most just want correspondence. Mail time is the most important time for these men. Maybe a calender with pics of your children. You can get that at Wal-Mart. You can even make a nice quality book with pictures at www.kodak.com. Maybe your family and friends can each hold a huge sign saying, "Miss You", "Love You", Thinking of You" and etc

A great website is www.anysoldier.com. It has a page with examples of what to send and what not to send. No pork is allowed. I can only send sealed items and no homemade items. I don't know if it's different for you as a wife. Be aware of the weather. When it gets hot items can melt in your package (like chocolate)

Also, you can use a flat rate box if it's really heavy. You can order supplies for Military thru www.usps.com. They send you boxes of all sizes etc for free.

One of the best things I got in a care package from my husband while in the M. East was something of his w/ his cologne on it. He sent that and put it in a ziploc bag so the scent lasted longer. I think you husband may appreciate something like that. Movies, books, videogames and homebaked goodies always do the trick too. Any kind of tolitrieshe uses are excellent too. I know when I was there socks and babywipes were the big thing. The baby wipes were for "combat showers" when you didn't have the time to get one.
Good luck to you and your husband. May he come home safe to you.

You could send him pre-packaged food, cookies, chips, etc. etc. Also, when I sent care packages to my friends who were deployed, they particularly liked the powdered Gatorade. Sweet stuff like chocolate isn't the greatest thing to send this time of year because it will melt before it gets to him. Send him a picture of you (and the kids if you have kids), letters from family and friends. Games if he likes them, magazines too. Anything you send will definitely show your love. Thanks for being a military wife! My husband was very supportive of me while I was in the service. Knowing he was waiting at home for me when I returned was very important.

wow this is the first set of answers where no one is smart or crappy yes stuff will melt it starts to cool off about now and will be cold believe it or not in jan its hard to get up to date magazines, hometown papers, cards, the main thing is its a gesture of love and support more than the package itself the best thing is getting foodstuffs that you cant get here at all there are items my wife sends me that no one else her has its good to be loved especially at a time like you and your husbands im going through it also but im almost done thank god take care just pray and never stop with i love you's and i miss you's

If he likes video games and has a system you can send him games... I Always send him Fruit cups that he likes... little snacks... I make home made beef jerky... I send him books... basicly if it will help him pass time... it's a good thing... don't forget the nude photos... Also if he has a laptop out there you can buy him a Web cam for it so that he can see you... Other good things include any sanitary items... like baby wipes hell I even get the little packages of wet naps that resturants give you and send them... shampoo... soap... Hell you name it and he can prolly find a use for it...

I did send my husband at the time some homemade chocolate chip cookies, baby wipes, a magazine, toothpaste, chapstick. When it was a b-day or holiday, send him a card with goodies to eat and enjoy. I also used to spray my letters to him with his favorite perfume he liked so much. I am sorry to hear your husband is over there, tell him to watch his back. I will say a prayer for you and your husband to bring him home safely.

When my husband was in Iraq he was there for Easter and I mad the mistake of sending chocolate race cars he said when he got there they looked like they were in a 5 car pile up! I sent him cookies and brownies, pringles because they wont get smashed. any kind of magazine would be good but the one thing he wanted was a bottle of my perfume. I also sent him his favorite book and some cds maybe even some dvds. watch what you get though because it doesnt seem like alot till you get to the post office and its like 20 pounds!
