If you are in a public bathroom and there are 5 stalls and only the far right is occupied by you, why does a person come in and use the stall right next to you? It's so gross and there is somebody in my office who does it all the time!!

Maybe some still have separation anxiety from being potty trained with mommy nearby...lol.

I think it is gross, but just imagine if you were a guy and another guy came next to you in the urinal!! Now THAT would be gross!

Know whats funnier? When someone passes gas and then looks all embarrassed when coming out of the stall!

Someone asked a similar question to this a couple of weeks ago...I still can't imagine why it matters. There's a barrier between you and the next person...when I go into a public restroom I'm there to do "my business" and I don't care if someone is in the next stall or not...as long as I've got toilet tissue to wipe with, it's all good.

Maybe people need to work more on getting over the bathroom phobia and being worried that someone is near them in the bathroom...that person isn't trying to listen to you or smell you or see you...they just want to do the same thing you're trying to do (probably)...

Relax and stop worrying about it...and wash your hands before leaving the restroom...

Oh creepy. I'll bet this one person has a "favorite stall" and is thinking of that and not you. I agree, there's a certain amount of personal space that we are looking for in a public bathroom. I don't blame you for being bothered!

Who knows why some people do what they do. I've read that the stalls closest to the door are the cleanest, so many people flock towards them. I, like you, prefer that people not use the one directly next to me if it's empty in there. I also like to make sure the lock works, and the toilet paper is stocked and the previous user did not vacate their entire insides and forget to flush.

Going to the bathroom is not only a natural bodily function, but is also an essential one. Some people are just so hung up about stuff that isn't important.

It's those women who complain about men leaving the seat up one minute, then insist on "hovering" over the seat and pissing all over the seat (and sometime the floor) that pisses me off. If you don't want to use the seat, lift it up so you don't piss on it, or clean up after your filthy selves.

I don't know, but someone in my office doesn't follow proper bathroom etiquette, either. Mainly, when I'm in there, she comes in and proceeds to do #2 while I'm there! Come on! It's the unwritten bathroom rule: #1 is fine when people are in there, but #2? For Christ's sake!

I KNOW! I always try to space out my bathroom visits - maybe the co-worker is afraid that they won't have enough tp??

Clearly you are not a team player in your company. I'd suggest updating your resume.

Remember: the team that works together poops together.
