The Cliff's Notes version of the Bible:

Obey God and be blessed; disobey and be punished.

If you want details on how to obey God, that will take a little more reading...

There's also the Complete Idiot's Guide to the Bible. Even though I am an atheist, this is not a joke! It's published by Alpha Books. The authors are Jim Bell and Stan Campbell. Happy studying.

a number of years ago I heard of the Reader's Digest putting out a condensed version; but I've never read it. Try them.

However, in the mean time, the Bible itself gives a condenced version of itself:
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

Actually, yes. I've seen New Testament and Old Testament (sold separately!) Cliff's Notes in a bookstore. But I recommend reading the whole thing, because God promises a blessing for it.

You know, there actually was a Reader's Digest Bible published some years back. I don't know if it's still in print. But there are lots of Bible commentaries and handbooks out.

Yup. It's called Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Bible. You can read it here:

There are some commentaries you can get from various Christian authors. (Charles Stanley, Billy Graham...)

I strongly recommend you read the Bible though. It is best to discover for yourself instead of through the words of others.

WHY would you want a crash course? you might miss something that would be benificial in you life? highlights...fast forward...God gave us Free Will to choose between right and wrong....the garden of eden and a perfect world is no more....due to decisions made. God loved us so much that he sent Christ to died for our sins so that we again would have life everlasting...as first created in the garden of eden...all you have to do is believe, Christ died, rose on the third day victorius over death hell and the grave...which means he lives...he is returning to restore the earth.....No on knows the exact day, but asd a christian, I do know the signs to watch for, because they are in the bible that you dont want to read....judgement day you will be judged on what you have done for Christ, not on everything you have done wrong...hope this helps

Nope.

There are commentaries that help explain, but since you only want highlights, you would not be interested in greater explanation and historical context.
